I think he allegedly is, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I will focus on the small picture when Flightline performs. There will be time enough later to anoint him the chosen one. I'm as excited as anyone about the horse. But far from ready to award him anything he doesn't earn. Harboring doubts is fun for me.
Given that the Met Mile is supposedly his next Grade 1 goal, they may be looking to stay at one-turn.

Maybe there is no reason to experiment, given the success and already thinking breeding prospects.

- hey, I'm not overly enamored with this horse, yet.
Impressive talent. So far he's got 3 fastballs down the middle, and he's hit three home runs.

Point taken, but they were upper deck home runs.

Yeah, this. Particularly with the TFUS data posted by cj.

It's enjoyable to have these arguments about horses with potential.

We used to see things play out on the track.

Anyone else remember 4 year old Seattle Slew v. 3 year old Affirmed, e.g.?

I was there that day.

Strangers that were rooting for Slew were running around the grandstand hugging each other after the race. It was pretty epic.

One of the dumber Horse of the Year votes, that shows you how much this sport stupidly worships the TC, was that year. Yes, Slew had an abbreviated year, but the one thing he proved beyond doubt was that he was better than Affirmed. He should have been HOTY.

Here is even better evidence of Seattle Slewís greatness. The 1978 Jockey Club Gold Cup at a mile and a half.

Even though Slew didnít win, it was an incredible performance. First, he battled with Affirmed through blistering fractions-6 furlongs in 1:09.2. Then Exceller, a very good horse in his own right, passed him. Exceller had been no part of the suicidal Pace duel. Still, Seattle Slew fought back and lost by only a nose.

Seattle Slew and Affirmed met twice and the Billy Turner trainee finished in front both times. In the JCGC Affirmed finished fifth beaten 18 1/2 lengths.

Affirmed didnít just win the Triple Crown that year. He won eight of eleven races-disqualified after finishing first in the Travers. Five of those were grade 1.

You could make a good case for him being Horse of the Year. You could also make a Strong case for Seattle Slew.

It's a shame.

He's clearly a very fast horse, but I'd like to see him challenged by another very fast high quality horse like Life Is Good to see what he really has in the tank.

The should have named him Halley's Comet. That's about how often he shows up in a race.

Everything with this horse is serious. That's why the connections first said he'd run next in the Met Mile after his Malibu win.
