Good for John I. NYRA broadcast is the best and just got better.

I'm biased for sure as Larry is a good friend, but no way this is an upgrade for me. Imbriale is a step backwards. He is solid, sure. Maybe he'll get better. But this feels like 100% a money move and isn't a good look for me.

I'm not going to argue about styles and such. Everybody has their own that they prefer. Larry isn't even my favorite announcer. But nobody can argue he isn't extremely prepared for every race he calls and is a total professional.

I'm shocked, I think he's an outstanding announcer. I will have to give John a listen. I'm familiar with the name but not the voice.

I've always liked John and really have nothing against Larry. I rarely listen to races anyway. I liked Durkin and would listen to most of his calls but as time goes on I listen less and less. I like a more spartan presentation of the race day.

W.O.W

Knew this would happen soon, like Larry retiring not getting replaced.

John sounds good to me but he should not be the "full" time announcer. I felt like John was only good for the winter, and when spring arrived Larry would take over for the rest of Aqueduct, Belmont and Saratoga.

Bring back Tom Durkin!

Why would Larry retire soon? He is nowhere near retirement age.

Not soon, but I meant in a few years till he was 60 or 65.

Sorry cj.

Anyone care to set odds on a Collmus return to Monmouth? He was still commuting from NJ to Belmont these past years.

Happy for John, always have liked his race calls dating back to the late 90’s as a kid and being at Aqueduct on many Saturdays. Probably should have been made the full time announcer right from the get go after Durkin retired.

I wonder if that means more calls for Anthony Stabile when John I. needs a break.

John has always been decent, but to me he will always be the voice of Aqueduct.

I liked Collmus too, my wife couldn't tell the difference between him and Durkin LOL.

Seems a weird time to leave, he was in the prime of his career...I imagine there is more to this story.
