Dad Brag

My 8 year old Rachel, the one who was born during my tour in Iraq, medalled in all 4 events at the Texas Level 4 State Gymnastics Championships today, and finished 2nd in the all around for her 5th medal of the day (that makes 25 medals in 5 competitions this year).

This is her handstand dismount on the beam.

Thanks for sharing. There is no feeling better than the pride a parent feels for their child!

It's moments like these that bring one's own life back into focus and reminds us what is important in life.

Good stuff.

My sincere wish is for you to sit teary eyed...watching your daughter thrill the world on gymnastics' biggest stage.

And I hope that you will let us know...so we can cheer right along with you.

This morning I woke up to clank, clank, clank. She had all 25 of her medals on walking around the house. Then she took em off, laid out her floor mats and started stretching. The competition season is over for this year. She said she wanted to start conditioning for next season so she can get first all around.

It appears that your eight year old has all the attributes of a future star whether it be in gymnastics or other walks in life going down the road.
She is working very hard and is dedicated at this point. Her parents can be very proud of her accomplishments. Keep us posted.
