It seems there is a lot of blame to go around concerning this debacle. The least of which should go to the DOE.

Primarily blame should go to the investment banks who put short term gain ahead of the good of the country. Second should be company officials, who concealed by omission exactly where and by whom the batteries would be manufactured. Third should be chronic underfunding of government agencies which make it impossible for those agencies to perform their duties in a maximum way.

Live and learn, the take away could be that of all the advancements to be made we are just starting, if we hold back new technologys and do not share with them they will return to the piss poor country that they were not too long ago. Even with batterys something new will come along and we could shut them out of that and have a profound effect on their economy enough to elimate national debt or create it for others. One new thing those red bastards do not get to sell for a cycle or two would bring them to there knees. Seeing upfront that our current President is in their pocket and they are loving it would do much in following elections to put America Firist.
