I think Pletcher has a good point - at least all the Derby starters knew the lasix change was coming for a while, and so connections have gotten at least one lasix-free start prior to the race tomorrow.

But the stakes races for older horses are loaded with many of them "off lasix". Churchill is hard enough to handicap without that factor. I'm surprised that the change wasn't phased in by "grandfathering" the older horses, and allowing them to use it for the remainder of their career.
