NFL Rule ??

I'm not sure if this is true but if it is when did it change ? or is it a game operation rule not a NFL rule ?
NFL RULES!! The specific rule pertaining to the national anthem is found on pages A62-63 of the league rulebook. It states:
“The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.
“During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking. The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

I don't get offended by people doing what they want during the anthem. I can't say why really, it just doesn't bother me. Maybe it is just to not give the people doing it the reaction many of them want.

I am offended that Alejandro Villanueva felt the need to apologize for standing for the anthem. My son went to high school with Alejandro when we were stationed in Belgium. I talked to him many times. He was ALWAYS in the gym next to the tennis courts where I played, and believe it or not I even went to the gym a time or two. You could not have met a nicer, more respectful kid than Alejandro. He seems to have turned into an even better man.

It can change perspective. About the flag and more. Remember that flag is presented to the family etc.

I served on a few honor guards at funerals in the AF and as a cop.

But when my dad died, I was presented the flag for his service in Korea. Being on both sides is enlightening. It can change you.

Enough said

Do what I do and fact check. Let me know what if you find the same thing I did.

The NFL rulebook makes no mention of the national anthem. But the game operations manual does.

This is like the third time (at least) that this rule has been discussed in the last day or two...I suggest people go through some of the threads in here before starting a new one...
