ARE THE O'S FOR REAL ?

2nd best record in all of baseball. Lead the majors in home runs.

Fans here are holding their breath waiting for the fall.

Will it happen ?

I think MY team, north of the 49th. is the more real deal, D. Js have 5 quality starters, with the old man being 28! If some of the hitters start coming alive, a Wild Card berth is certainly possible.

If only we had other than an "idiot closer", half the time, we'd be leading the Rays! But, good luck to us both in a changing of the guard!

Good young pitching has kept them in every game. I'm from Baltimore, living in Florida now, and I have suffered many disappointing seasons. I watched an owner who gave up after what Albert Bell did, and then the steroid scandel just ruined this team for many years. Its great to see getting back to what made Baltimore a powerhouse in the 70's and 80's good farms system and great coaching. Man I miss Earl Weaver! He was an intense coach who sparked the team in a close game. I am excited for what this season has in store, and even if we dont win the division, its great to be playing good baseball this year. It actually started the end of last season when we ruined the red sox chances(highlight of the decade in sports for me). Anyways, O-R-I-O-L-E-S!!!!! GO O's!!

I had the DISTINCT pleasure of meeting Brooks Robinson today at Pappas restaurant in Parkville Md. Both cj and JR have been their- great place.

What a super person he is. 5 minute talk with him. I recounted my O's memories of his plays, as in 70 vs the Reds. He was impresses with my knowledge of the O's history. How many cn say that they bought a HOF guy a Coke??

What a day.

You know I thought they would turn this corner 2 years ago and I'm glad they finally have, but it is way too early for expectations like this. Remember how giddy people were about Pittsburgh last year? That said though, definitely hope they can keep playing well.

I think he meant the fall, as in the standings. Could be wrong though...

Yes son, folks here are thinking that the bubble will burst, but apparently it has not done so. This has been fun so far- hope it keeps up.

They won the series against the Nats, but Strasberg had a big day. Incuding a home run.

On a farm system note, I hear Dylan Bundy is dominating Class A ball on the mound for them. Outside chance that he gets to the big club close to the end of the season.

Looks like the crowds are starting to come back a little too. Such a nice place to see a game.

Pitching has been very good, especially the starters.

I think they will probably finish right around .500, as they still have too many weaknesses in their batting line up. Lots of guys getting their first looks at the majors.

They are clearly a better team than previous years, and Buck has them playing hard and smart.

I'm going to enjoy the ride as long as I can.
