Wagering on a Canadian track fron the US

With the Canadian dollar worth about 30% less than the US dollar; am I not screwing myself when I wager on a Canadian track from a US track?

In what way? You bet in $US and get paid in $US at the posted odds.

I was thinking about the 1$ min bet pick 4 at Assiniboia Downs. I will be wagering 30% more than Canadians on this wager. Will I get paid 30% more than the posted winnings$

In the US and Canada, for all wager types, the amount collected at the window (or ADW) is calculated based on the following formula:

AmtCollected = [(Odds) x (AmtWagered)] + AmtWagered

If you bet using US dollars you are paid in US dollars.

If you bet using Canadian dollars you are paid in Canadian dollars.

The one exception is if an American has a unique ticket and scoops the jackpot pool. They are wagering $US to win the Canadian dollar pool.
Alternatively, Canadians have an advantage if they scoop a US jackpot pool.
