He was my local sports guy for years, easygoing personality and knew his craft. RIP Neumy.

I am sprinkling some lagniappe to pay homage to Bob Neumeier, whom I have known over 40 years. He was once the play by play announcer for the WHA's New England Whalers and below is the actual broadcast of this infamous brawl vs. Minnesota Fighting Saints.
Incredible fighting and Bob was brilliant calling it, as was his color man Bill Rasmussen, who would later change the sports and broadcasting landscape by creating ESPN!

Sorry to hear. Always liked him on any horse racing broadcast, seemed like a real horse player.
It was fun when he was paired with Battaglia, who always played the chalk, and Bob would many times take shots with some value horses with solid reasoning behind his choices. Think he hit a nice share of those plays too.
Might be wrong, but seem to remember him once hitting a long shot loaded super on the Derby for a huge score. RIP

Horse Racing: Playing To Win. Created and written by Bob Neumeier. Basic but was damn good. Can be found on YouTube.
