Mountaineer without you calling the races is just wrong...

For a decade I stopped visiting my heart doctor(s). But at the insistence of my wife, a much experienced RN, I went to a cardiologist of her choosing and found him pro-active, even an alarmist in my case.
I am still trying to push the procedure back until Mnr goes down. But he just is not having it.
Again, fellow board members, your concerns are unnecessary, but much appreciated.

Doctors are almost always going to be overcautious due to the high cost of malpractice insurance, so that has to be taken into account. If I were you, I would go to another cardiologist to get a second opinion on your condition.

Doctors advice is self serving and useless. Except it's better than any other source.
You MUST heed the words of an expert you trust and get your butt in there and get better ASAP.
You're a good, kind, gentle, caring man that we don't want to lose.
Everybody faces this kind of decision. Especially as we get older. It takes a while to reconcile it all. But there is NO OTHER CHOICE. You gotta listen to the people who know.
You'll be back on your feet and contributing to this forum and the MTR signal before you know it.
We'll all help you through it.

You guys make me feel like I belong here. Please don't be overly concerned or overestimate the severity of the procedure(s) that lay ahead of me.
And know that I consider you as friends.
To Vic: I'm still working on the "gentle" part. Curbing a violent temper has been a long road. I actually walked away from a fight on the golf course a few weeks ago. My pals could not believe it. It was probably the second or third time I've done that in the last three years, or so. And given my past behavior, those that really know me just can't wrap their minds around it.

So, yes, the support I have gotten here feels very good.

To get back on track here. Pete stopped in the studio Tuesday night, He looked strong, recovered, and is eager to return. He informed me that it's just a matter of paper work and he expects to resume work soon.
Hopefully, his many fans do not have long at all to wait.

My fate likely will be decided by Century management next week. I remain hopeful of returning to Mountaineer but there are certainly no guarantees.

This should be the proverbial no brainer. Peter, you are more than an announcer. You are an entertainer. I hope Century gets your value to the Mountain.
If they don't well that will be your fate as well. Your fate will be getting well positioned at another track. And, I for one, an avid race watcher ( and I am sure others here) will give you sparkling references.
In other words, I am also hoping the Mountain renews but if they do not, don't you dare PUT THE CUE IN THE RACK!

Dan Hedaya calling a race. Barney Gumble from the Simpsons...
