Mohawk 2/18 FULL ANALYSIS

BETS OF LUCK

Race 1-----3-7-5-1

1- Crazy Goodbye- Ontario Sire Stakes tested last year. Hit the money a few times against some very good young ones. The qualifier was pretty good. Easy winner of qual was a very promising Jamieson 3 year old Day At The Gym who is 1 for 1 LT. The 2nd place finisher Out On A Mission raced against NW2 company last December before the break.

2- Emily Antoinette- Ships to the big track sporting an 0-21 record for Bill Megens. Has raced against much more experienced than this field, but has some major gait issues. Will not count out as a major bomb in here, as the latest qualifier was good, albeit 2 months ago.

3- Jackson Storm- This 3 year old has a nice brush in him, which is a huge plus for “One Move Mcclure”. The latest was best post of his short career and they left the gate, only to be tracked down late. I really like the brush ability against this bunch.

4- Lady Titan- Walker sends out this 4 year old mare after racing much tougher last year. Unfortunately, she didn’t show too much in many of those races. Lone bright spots were a qua against OnHarvest participant Scorched Romance and lone win was over weak NW2 Lady Titan. Can’t see her beating this bunch, although the class edge.

5- Regal Seven- Vanderkamp 4 year old has a history of gait issues. If flat, he wins this race. Can’t leave off the ticket because he’s the best in the field, but far from a key due to breaking issues. Back in October, he raced well against Linger Hanover who moved up to NW3 competition fast for Scott West. Hopefully Vanderkamp used the past 2 months to fix gait issues.

6- Peter Crown- Was 3rd to the 1 for 1 Jamieson 3 year old Day At The Gym last out by 12 lengths. Looks like he passed tiring horses in the lane for 3rd. Never within 12 lengths at finish in any start and historically has gait issues. Made a decent middle move 2 back but faded fast. Pass

7- Powerful Spirit- Huge close last out. Sizer can have one ready. Back ½ was 57 in that race, which is a big brush for this class. Has some breaking issues, but if flat, he will be flying late. Some to like.

8- Willywin- Double entry for Megens. This one gets the better driver than the previous entry and has made some moves in previous races. Has some gate pace and should be forwardly placed here. With breaking issues in this race, this 3 year old could benefit if chaos ensues behind. Use as a saver in big P5 tickets.

9- Fan Club- 3rd Lifetime start for Obrian. Has raced weaker and shown very little in previous starts. Pass

Race 2--------3-5-6-1

1- Blakes Chip- 4 year old makes 1st start for Cassell. Has been competitive at this level at Class B tracks. Worth a look, but with caution. Step underneath some of these.

2- Kevmarvalous- Makes 1st lifetime start for Gilkinson. Switzer barn can be very hot, yet couldn’t get this one ready better than NW3 company. Didn’t fair well at Plainridge either, even with Drew Monti. I’ll pass and hope he keeps form from months ago.

3- Chiefs Beach- Moiseyev sends out this 5 year old after a pair of good races last December. Finished 3rd at Flamboro at odds on before drawing post 6 against NW1500 company and finishing 5th at 3-1. Raced 25000 Claimers here prior to that and although finishing 9th, raced tough for ½ of the race. Like the chances here.

4- Better Than Cash- Preston Shaw owns, drives and trains. Shipped in for the December 22nd race at this class and was 6th at 40-1. That was a better 15000 Claimer race here, but showed very little. Passing here.

5- Caught In A Dream- Trainer change here to Bourassa. I like that Filion takes the drive and is a major upgrade here. Has raced bottom level competition, but has a shot here with the upgrades. Has made some nice moves. Don’t leave off your tickets.

6- Card Swap- Crone’s 4 year old is the ML Favorite. Makes a nice late move and has been competitive at this level at the Class B Tracks. Has had some gait issues. Broke before the start in the OnHarvest series. Lone wins were over Mooshine Willy (weak NW2) and Doc Fanelli (NW25000LT). I think he has a shot, but not at those odds.

Race 3------4-5-2-8

1- Make Some Waves- Ships in with trainer change. Like the upgrade in the bike and hopefully he can repeat some of those old efforts. Most recent win was at 80-1, but was sent off at 1-2 against NW4 competition 2 back. Some to like.

2- Lous Delight- Nice to see Roy in the bike again on this 4 year old. Has always been competitive at this level and made some nice moves. 0-17 last year but faces a weaker bunch here. Key will be if Roy can create a good trip.

3- Bettors Donttell- Moves up off the win in December. If this race was right off that performance, I would’ve given him a chance. Has hit the Ex in 50% LT starts, but not a fan of the class hike off the layoff.

4- Saulbrook Kaisen- Some to like about this 4 year old for Plante. Huge win over Card Swap, a solid 15000 claimer at Flamboro. Competitive 2 back against Pat Lachance’s 4 year old WalkItTalkIt. Very much in play here tonight.

5- Cantfindabettorman- Big closer for Hudon is tricky. Tested in OntSS before scratching sick at entry level. Bumps up in class months later and wins at 47-1. Most recent was a nice 2nd at this class, closing from the back to just miss to Unique Beach, a NW2-4 4 year old for R Nifty Norman. Repeat of that could easily win this.

6- David Lloyd George- Bombs away in every race, other than 7/2 win at entry level. Closes nicely and can absolutely catch a piece with the right setup.

7- Hes Swift- This 4 year old for Auciello can fire from the gate. I’m not a fan of JJ in the bike with this level. Lone win was at 9/5 over today’s 3 Bettors Don’t Tell. Hasn’t raced well since the bump in class.

8- Better B Swift- Good driver change from last out, but Roy couldn’t get this 4 year old to prevail at this class, I feel Filion will not either. Had a mark at 2 years old of 1:53.4 but has since not been much.

9- Captain Ray- Ships in from Flaboro for Demers. Draws poor post. Has a nice late kick but that was against much weaker than this field. Toss

Race 4------3-4-7-2

1- Master Smile- Ships in from Flamboro for Riley. Has some early gate speed, and Macdonald can get them off the car. 0-8 last 3 years at Woodbine. Last win was against Barossa Blue Genes, a weaker 8500 Claimer at the B Tracks. Likes to pick up checks, just not the big one.

2- 2 Levy Taylore- Has made some nice moves in many of his starts. Has been claimed and claimed from West many times. Those constant barn changes can take its toll, as training regiments and equipment changes frequently. Does like to win though and the odds show it. Has been the favorite in 7 of last 8 starts. Will be there!

3- Crocadile Canyon- 1st half of Shepherds entries has Mcnair in the bike. He likes to win as well and has some back class. Lifetime mark of 1:50.3 and is another that gets claimed frequently. Big late kick, which plays right into Mcnairs hand. Will be ready tonight.

4- Art Of Fire- 2nd half of the Shepherd entries has Jamieson in the bike. This 7 year old comes in from Dover. Has a slightly negative driver change from Tetrick. Has had some big miles over the fast 5/8ths though and must be respected.

5- Ufdragons Rocket- Ships in from Miami Valley on the barn change. Like that Roy takes the drive, but draws a tough Shepherd pair here. 1 for 26 last year doesn’t look good against a couple that like their pictures taken.

6- Fire Storm K T- Hudon 6 year old has some gait issues. Changed barns frequently last fall and hasn’t been the same that won in 1:55 at Pompano last year. Pass

7- Madetobeking- Won last out at Flamboro and Kelly comes with to drive. Lone race last year here at Woodbine was a 2nd to Nates Bucky, a decent 12500 claimer racing at Flamboro. Some to like!

8- Always N The Money- Cullen crew sends ships this old timer in from Flamboro. Has some back class and a Lifetime mark of 1:51. Hasn’t found the winners circle much, however. Was 2nd in December to Big Boy Frazier, a 7500 Claimer for Lare. Has some merit, but very tough race.

Race 5-----5-3-4-2

1- Musical Spell- Guitard entry has been close a few times at this class. Could be close once again with the rail draw and CC in the bike.

2- You Cant Habit- Waples sends this 7 year old out at the same class that he was 39-1 last out. Has shown very little at Flamboro. Has a mark of 1:56.3 a few years ago though, and that would win this race easily.

3- Stormont Dundas- 1st off the claim for Gassien. Big driver move from Ryan to Mcnair. Went a mile here in 1:57 in September against much better. Must use in tickets.

4- Neon Lights- Drops in class. Was sick in December, so can expect improvement here. Hasn’t made a big move in recent races, but does have some back class to like. Maybe

5- In The Muscle- Drops in NW classes again. Was the clear favorite last out at 4/5 on the drop, but went 1st over and quit. Hopefully it was just the sloppy track and he gets back into form.

6- Wiki Hanover- 1st real race in over a year. Must’ve been very sick. Qualifier in December wasn’t great, and although 2019 form could win this, I think there’s some medical reasons for the regression and will pass at lower odds.

7- Dawson Springs- Has not looked good for some time and hasn’t been bet at the windows. Pass

8- Need An Alibi- Ships from Flamboro after 2 lackluster efforts here in November. Not a ton to like, Pass

9- Fit Bitt- Made a nice move 2 and 3 back but not enough to make a difference. Driver change from Drury to Jamieson may help. Could surprise at a price.

10- Kendras Coco- Horrible post draw and a negative driver change. Has not looked good and is 1 for last 37 at Woodbine. Pass

Race 6-----8-4-6-1

1- Revolver N- Did not come out of the winning effort well on the class hike. The win did come at 1 to 2 over Silver Beat, whose a 30 claimer at Miami Valley. November form could compete here.

2- American Wiggle- Good mid race kick and has a big shot here from post 2. Throw out the wet track at Flamboro and he’s fired a few 1:52 miles. He has some back class to like.

3- Bush Man N- This Auciello 6 year old looks out of form, but has been one of the few that has been racing more recently. Not a fan of the 0-25 last 2 years, but can’t knock the recency.

4- Premier Joy A- Looked good last star with a nice late move, which was a different style than the previous few. Beat Heavenly Sound in qualifier, and that one has been racing against higher NW than these. Good post

5- Osborne Seelster- Drops back down. Just missed last time at this class on the drop. Was sent out at 47-1 that race and had a nice trip. Virtually the same trip led to a 2nd at this class in November at 19-1. Will be longer odds, but doesn’t get the same trip tonight. Pass

6- HP I Got Toplay- Roy takes the drive again on a class drop. He faces a weaker group here than he has been, however, a win would put Baillargeon in a pickle for class placement. Probably the best entry in here, but how aggressive are they?

7- Mikey Camden- Looked good since coming to Woodbine. Just missed in qualifier to Sportsmanship, an 8 claimer, and then raced well at this class 1st start out. I think this field might be too much, but looks to always give his all.

8- Isitfridayyet- Moreau makes a driver change to CC. Nice 1:50.4 mark last year and hasn’t looked bad. Was sent off at 1 to 2 from post 10 on the drop to this class last out. My pick in this race.

9- Dreamy Fella- 2nd half of the Auciello entry gets JMac in the bike. Has had some good efforts at this class but can’t seem to get the job done. We all know Carmen can get them ready, but post 9, he may be flying too late.

Race 7-----6-1-4-3

1- HP Starlette- Has been sent off the favorite at this class last 2 races on the drop from NW3. Had some trouble in both of those races. I think Roy can get the job done here and graduate this mare from this class.

2- While Your Up- Poor form and just doesn’t look good. No shot.

3- Day At The Gym- Undefeated Jamieson entry has looked tough! Does face a tougher bunch here on the move up in class, but this 3 year old is capable. Lone win by 6 was at 1 to 4. Watch tote board.

4- Tuckers Out- Competitive 4 year old for Lilley draws a nice post. Last race was a nice performance. Seems to knock on the door, but can’t get the job done. Has a very good shot here.

5- Willy Walton- Hudon ships in from Flamboro. He was competitive in September and always seems to be placed in a competitive spot. Much of competition he’s been competitive with is now NW3 or better. Could upset at a price.

6- Modern Mass- Stakes tested and was competitive last year. Was sent off at 3/5 a few back and was beaten by back to back winner (already won at this class) Talahasse Seelster. Mayotte is not my favorite driver, but this mare is fit.

7- Windsong Patriot- One move 5 year old for CC draws a poor post. Usually just keeps up with competition, as the 1 for 16 last year shows.

8- Apostle Peter- Ships in on the trainer change. Slight driver change but I’m not a fan at long odds from a poor post. Pass

Race 8----5-6-4-1

1- Reel- 2nd off the claim for Moreau. The layoff may have helped him get this one ready. Has some back class and has some nice pace off the car. One to watch!

2- Leader Tonight- Always seems to make a nice move. I do like the driver change here and good post draw. They seem to be aggressive but unless he gets a trip, he will most likely be underneath the winner.

3- Devils Peak- Ships in from the B tracks. Raced well on occasion from some poor posts, but faces a tough bunch here. I’ll pass.

4- Snap Test- Ships in from weak Frazier Downs on the trainer change. Looks very fit though and can get off the car. Likes to find with winners circle. Big driver change. Very likely to be there.

5- Keep Coming- Big closer ships in from Flamboro. Likes the big track. Has raced some good competition here last year and is my pick based on class.

6- P L Idaho- ML Favorite for Moreau draws the outside and will be going off the car. There is a great deal of pace pressure in here which may hurt. Great mark last year and is the one to beat, but I’ll take a shot.

Race 9----6-9-1-4

1- On Cruise Control- Very fit 7 year old has a nice mark last year of 1:52. Was sent out at 5/2 last out and made a nice mid race move.

2- Veneno- Can get off the car and Hudon will most likely leave tonight. 2nd start for Waxman as they move up in class off the win. Roy chose elsewhere though

3- Loris Rock Star- Out of form and moves up in class 2nd off the claim. Has a nice late move but needs some to quit in front.

4- Mach Messier- 3rd start for Moreau. Good closer who was 6-1 last out and just missed by a length. Better timed move wins that. Worth a look

5- Sportsmanship- Auceillo bumps this one up in class off a good qual and good race vs 8 claimers. Made a nice mid race move but faces tougher here.

6- Portrstownchris IR- Shipper for Shepherd/Burke. Ron Burke still owns this one. Has made some nice moves against weaker, but gets a nice driver change to McNair. Huge mark last year.

7- Fern Hill Breeze- Nice win 2 back at bottom level Class B tracks, but faces tough bunch here.

8- Jimmy Be Good- Trainer change back to Gassien. Raced well for him a few back, but that was a pocket trip at 15-1. I’ll pass

9- Outlaw Gunpowder- Big closer for Cullen. Will be rolling late and has a nice mark last year. Always bet at the window. Travis tries getting it done

10- HP Patriote- Bumps up in class and draws post 10. Big close for the win at 9-1, but the front end completely quit. I will go elsewhere.

Hudon had plenty of time to pull his horse but wisely decides to sit and wait.

No pull generally means he is not going to the races.

Has been a great night and so glad Mohawk is back.

Race 9- Hammering the 6 Portrstownchris IR. Keying Tri and Super over 1,2,4,5,9
