In Race One, The Bouwerie (“The Bronx is up and The Battery’s Down…"), 7-panels state-bred, I’ve landed on MIRACLE. The Hall-of-Fame trainer from the "Lone Star State, (need I say more), Todd Pletcher, conditions this Scat Daddy-bred 3-year-old filly. To add to this bay's luster, she has, in her last two races, faced Grade II stakes company: GP's Oaks and FG's Rachel Alexandra (she finished 2nd). I believe, unabashedly, that this Smart Strike bred towers over this field. Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico's Irad Ortiz Jr. is "in the irons." I suppose the only "fly in the ointment" is the fact that this Mendelssohn-bred has been "on the bench" for two months, yet Pletcher does well with horses who fit into that category. Others: , ,
