There had been 2 other falls that led to euthanization in 2 other races earlier that day at Aintree to make a total of three on the day, though not all in the GN race.

i think 14 is fine.
That is my fear as well-- and this year with all the injuries and breakdowns at churchill I was holding my breath during the Derby. Thank goodness all the horses came home safely.
