Question About The Synthetic Track At Belmont

Since the Inner Turf Course measures 1 3/16 miles plus 103 feet, they can easily fit a 1 1/16-mile synthetic track inside of it, not the 1-mile synthetic track they're talking about.

With a 1 1/16-mile synthetic track, 6-furlong races could be run on it, unlike at Gulfstream; and 1 1/4-mile races could be run on the synthetic as well (the length of stretch at Belmont is only 1,097 feet - not as long as most people think it is), meaning that they could rid of those awful 1 1/4-mile races on the main dirt track, which are the equivalent of the SMU "death penalty" on any horse drawing an outside post.

Doesn't anyone at NYRA know how to calculate the value of pi?

Apparently not!
