Local vote today to decided Ruidoso's Future

I really hope this doesn't happen, it's still a fun facility with almost a state fair meet feel. If the track moved it would loose that feel and it would also really hurt the city. However, I really feel this is a ploy just to get more money.

It appears that California does not have a monopoly on bickering politicians and management that cannot reach agreements for the common good. The loss of Ruidoso would be a huge blow to the local economy. The area is a major draw for tourism and retirement, and the track is an important part of that. Have briefly visited the town of Ruidoso, but could not visit the track. Pleasant, scenic mountain town. Besides their live meet, believe that they also offer simulcasting.
