GOV requiring genetic testing in return for reduced insurance rates
Why is the GOP in favor of forcing employees to choose between genetic testing or increased insurance rates? Whatever happened to privacy and keeping government out of our lives?

The bill, Preserving Employee Wellness Programs Act, HR 1313, was introduced by Rep. Virginia Foxx, (R-N.C.), who chairs the Committee on Education and the Workforce. A committee statement said the bill provides employers “the legal certainty they need to offer employee wellness plans, helping to promote a healthy workforce and lower health care costs.” It passed on a party-line vote, with all 22 Republicans supporting it and all 17 Democrats opposed.

If you are one of the higher paid employees you can forego the genetic testing because you can afford the higher rates. However, if you're a low level employee you will have to get the genetic testing.
And you know as well as I know that the genetic testing will be made available to parties other than the insurance companies. The GOV will want your genetic information.
Basically, Democrats wanted to force socialization on everyone by penalizing people for not having insurance. Republicans just want to invade everyone's privacy.
Liberty? Eugenics?

It'd be real interesting to see if Congresswoman Virginia Foxx (porn sounding name) has raked in significant insurance company campaign contributions.I'm betting the answer is yes.

Foxx claims it will lower insurance costs for the employer.
It also makes personal privacy and the retention of personal rights for individuals more expensive.

To protect the corporation or protect individual liberty? That is the question.

Foxx is a liar.
Anyone voting in favor of this needs to be voted out.
What do we call this, the Mengele Act?
Got to get rid of this GOP thing.
They are bad news.
All of them.

You can volunteer to submit your DNA to your employer, but it requires you to give up your privacy and liberty.
You do not have to volunteer to submit your DNA, but then you receive a financial penalty.
This does not seem like a voluntary policy.
It seems more like government coercion.

In Texas, it gets you fired.
A few years ago a trucking company that my son worked for here in Texas, offered it's truck drivers
a great deal.
The deal was (Volunteer for genetic testing and if everything comes out O.K. that their health
insurance payments would be reduced by $50.00 a month.)
A bunch of my son's coworkers decided to take advantage of the opportunity to save money.
The good news is that all of the men that were tested were in good health.
The bad news is that the men that were tested, got fired.
Obviously they weren't fired because of their health.
They were fired because of the answers that they provided in the pre testing questionnaire.

Money's post of a good example of "voluntary" DNA testing being "coercion".

If someone wants my DNA they're going to pay me a lot more consideration than a $50 per month discount on health insurance.

I wonder if this is a back door way for the FBI to attain everyone's DNA.
