Has there ever been a league fade from memory so fast? Does anybody even care if they get their labor troubles solved?

Some day in the not too distant future, horse players will betting on computer generated races over the net. Race tracks will become casinos and shopping centers. And some crooner will be belting out "there used to be a race track here".

I felt like that when the NBA was locked out, I honestly couldn't care if they ever played another NBA game ever again (and I loved the NBA during the 80's & 90's).
I miss hockey very much and hope they get this thing settled very soon.

I am a huge hockey fan. I am finding that I do not even care if they solve the lockout this year.

I love hockey but won't be supporting the sport at the ticket window for a very long time. Don't see how they save this season.

I love going to a live NHL game but will not watch it at all on TV. Two strikes in 8 years? That's going to be tough for a marginal sport to overcome, at least in the US. Maybe not the case in Canada.

One upside to the lockout: I get to watch the young entry-level contract players in the AHL who would otherwise be in "the show."

You have some outstanding players on the Barons, i would take advantage of that while you can, minus Nugent-Hopkins for the time being, he will be busy over the holidays winning gold with the Canadian National Junior team. 
It's funny, i haven't had the TV on all that much because of the lock-out, it's amazing how lousy TV is without hockey on. I feel they are hurting the game south of the border, the game was on thin ice in the southern U.S. to start with, and they just made it that much worse. As far as the great white north goes, a lot of people are upset by it, but i really don't see anybody walking away when they resume.
Personally i am for the players, i hope they hold out till they get what they wan't, but that's an argument for another day.
A lot of the fans in Canada have put it on the back-burner with what the Jays have being doing over the last few weeks, everyone up here has a hard-on for next season, April can't come soon enough!

i miss hockey, i like hockey and i really hope it will have a season. and if they don't play till next year... i'll still watch and follow.

It's my favorite sport. I miss it. But i'm pretty angry. My hometown team is not my favorite team. I will not be ordering the NHL Center Ice package. I'll watch NBC sports ( versus). No more road trips to see my favorite team either.

It's a bigger newsmaker in Canada then the Presidental election, or anything else in the second half of 2012.
It's a huge deal up here, and coming from Winnipeg where we just got a team, people are a little understanding but its frustrating, TSN is hockey for 25 mins of a 60 min show, split now between World Juniors and the lockout.

NHL Lockout
I hope that this lockout never ends just for the comedy value that the local squad has provided. The local sportsradio station starts their broadcast day with some grim pronouncement about how today is Day 96 or whatever of the lockout and no meetings are scheduled.
The local goalie found work but apparently cannot stop a beach ball in two different European leagues.
The team player rep gets plenty of airtime frowning and attending meetings with the Fehr brothers.
The high water mark is now the hot shot young forward Kane waving bundles of cash around Las Vegas.
Ladies and Gentlemen, your 2012-13 Winnipeg Jets
