Baffert pretty much admits he had no shot vs that horse. He mentions Essential Quality but you can figure out who caught his attention Saturday. Also takes a shot at the surface of Aqueduct.

I meant in the SA race. Obviously the derby will be a whole new issue with better horses. But it’s not like these grass types haven’t done it before recently. And that horse runs the same style.

One of Rock Your World's 'sparring partners' (Heywoods Beach) races in the next race (R8) at Santa Anita. He is an overlayed 20/1 on the morning line.

Hope you guys got some money from that one.

Wasn't a very good race overall, but he probably did the most running. Tri with the heavy-fav 2nd paid 335 for 50c

(I used TimeformUS + common sense to figure that out)

100% with you... Easier to pound that bet since I have a 30-1 futures bet off shore on Essential Quality from October.

What sort of trip are you envisioning for Rock Your World that would net him the Derby victory?

Right to the front. Take them around... I dont see a pace meltdown. the cheap speed is long gone from the race since the points system.

The cheap speed isn't the problem, it's the quality speed.

Concert Tour, Caddo River, Soup and Sandwich, Highly Motivated...

Horses that have shown the ability to settle like Hot Rod Charlie and Medina Spirit may get a nice setup despite looking second tier.

Of course, the 2yo champ is no stranger to good setups, either.

Quality speed wont force a pace meltdown because they are quality horses and dont want to end it before it begins. Post position draw will be important.

That might be a logical presumption but the fact of the matter is there is more true front-running speed lining up for this Derby than in the past several years and none of them have shown the ability to settle off the pace, including Rock Your World.

That said, Rock Your World might be the "speed of the speed" and he has finished with gusto in his last two races (at least from a visual standpoint). Perhaps he's a preternatural talent like Justify. Seems like he's going to have to be...and hope there is nothing that can challenge from midpack or further back late in the race.

I'm guessing RYW is going to go off as the second choice in the Derby now.
For those who have him @ 31-1 in the final future pool, they have to be pleased.

I was taking a glance at Conduit Mare Profile .... Rock Your World ......

His Speed # 5 is super low ..... actually .....just one Derby Winner since 1980

had 5 as a Speed Number in the CMP ....that was way back in 1981

Pleasant Colony

Conduit Mare Profile = 5-0-3-7-7 Speed = 5 Stamina = 14 Index = 0.54 Triads = 8-10-17

Rock The World

Conduit Mare Profile = 2-3-4-7-8 Speed = 5 Stamina = 15 Index = 0.41 Triads = 9-14-19

Probably meaningless .....because whenever I post stuff like this people are quick to bash and say ..... worthless info ...

Thought I would try one more time in here ? LOL !

Rock The World will be in my 2/3/4/5 spots only

if wrong ........ tip the cap and move on

BOL !
