Caddo River carrying five pounds more than Concert Tour

Thoughts on the additional weight?

I’m still playing Caddo River: he’s at least five pounds better.

Highweight hasn't won in a while but certainly has done in the past (many of the Loblloly colts that have won toted 122 lbs).

Concert Tour was all out (and drifted out) to beat Freedom Fighter sprinting last time, and the latter didn't flatter the result in the Gotham next out. Gave way without much of a fight down the lane and yet the final furlong of the Gotham was slow and a 40-1 shot won the race.

Baffert entered two in the Rebel, and Hozier looked well within himself winning a two-turn race to break his maiden second time out. Gets tested for class as his maiden score was your typical 6 horse maiden special workout at Santa Anita. The runner-up in his race (Fenway), came back to bomb again last weekend.

I find it interesting that Caddo River and Concert Tour are getting all the press right on top of the race. Turf writers were falling all over themselves all winter keeping us informed every time Keepmeinmind went to the track...and now crickets. Maybe they finally looked at the PPs?

Concert Tour is a nice animal, and he looks to me like he's got plenty of speed and stamina at up to about 9F or so. I'm not worried about his stamina per se. The thing I don't love about him is that his stride is a bit 'high' and short. He's not reaching out. I've seen other horses idle/hang a little bit like that in duels.

I don't know how that will play out. Up to Caddo River IMO.

It's a tough betting race. Cox and Baffert have the two best, short-priced horses.

That race answered a few questions. Caddo River isn't nowhere near as good as he was made out to be. Not wise to bet against Baffert.

Stride looked fine in the race today.

Aggressive early tactics as well as a horse that didn't tire on the pace helped win the duel w/ Caddo.

The figures won't be amazing for that race, but I thought it was relatively impressive.

I thought Geroux was gonna strangle that horse. What in the blue F was that about?

If you’ve got the better speed with the proven distance experience, why not let the other horse come to you?

LOL, amen brother. it seems when I bet against Baffert, I lose. If I bet on him, I lose. Concert tour could be the buzz horse. Let me be the first one of the year to say it, this crop doesn't look as good as others, lack of lasix?
