What I'm saying is, it doesn't matter what he says.

Trump can be a really obnoxious asshole, but what's the alternative. Liars and power brokers who are only out for themselves and their heated parking garages?

They are all very, very flawed. But if you want Lindsay Graham and his cohorts calling the shots then vote for Cruz (or whoever)...and that's what you'll get.
Excellent post, barney. I don't normally look at this political side...guess I'm starved for entertainment.

Glad there's still some "normal" folks here

What if he shot someone in the middle of 5th Avenue. Would that matter?

Apparently, it mattered to 69% of those who voted against him in Wisconsin.

The good news

is that on the Republican side a brooked convention is pretty much assured. Also with Bernie staying & winning a bit forces Clinton even further left which is going to hurt her in the general assuming she gets there. All in all a good night.

The clips I've seen from last night don't have Cruz's wife there. Where is she? Maybe the answer to that question answers the other question.

It's both. The press and establishment have been against Trump from the beginning. I've never seen anyone withstand the beating Trump took. So no, it's not all self-inflicted by any stretch of the imagination.

It's pretty absurd when you think about it that a man will take a far greater beating for saying women who commit an illegal act should be punished than a candidate that is an unabashed socialist or one who is under FBI investigation (among other skeletons).

Maybe she was in Texas tending to their two young daughters? Like I said, his non-answer to the faithful question (to a UK reporter, I believe) is telling. But the National Enquirer story was well beyond that. Again, I don't like the guy, but I think Trump is a mental case.

She was there. He stood with her at the podium and the crowd yelled "Heidi, Heidi!"

I'm still having trouble watching Cruz and not thinking he is Mr. Haney from Green Acres. If he is this clip could cause him serious trouble

Roger Stone has threatened to release the hotels and rooms #s (at the GOP convention) of any GOP delegate who tries to "steal the nomination"* from Trump. Classic Roger Stone, and Trump supporters want to complain about Cruz's tactics. Laughable.

I know, I know, Stone isn't a formal Trump advisor. I believe it's also possible to obtain the hotel information through the RNC, but I don't believe it's been used in this manner in the past. Not surprising, though, Stone is desperately trying to stay relevant. When's the last time Stone's name was uttered pre-Trump?

*If Trump doesn't reach 1237, it isn't stealing. It's the GOP convention rules. Don't like the rules -- change them or run as an independent, but stop whining.

She was actually there? I didn't watch the coverage last night. Thanks for the clarification.

Saw her... eventually. And then there was that touching moment when beady eyed Raphael closed for a spousal kiss and got... NADA! ... awkward.

(How women slept with this creepy, gnome is beyond me! )

GOP delegate rules are benefiting Trump

http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/...helping-trump/

Article from fivethirtyeight documenting how delegate rules are actually helping Trump in his fight for 1237.

Obviously, these rules were set up to benefit an establishment candidate so the RNC has only itself to blame. Unintended consequences are the way of the world.

But those deeply committed to the "Trump is being treated unfairly" meme will want to skip reading the attachment.

Trump says that he deserves the nomination even if he doesn't get a majority. He whines that a plurality should be enough because there were so many competitors when the campaign started. He further whines that if he doesn't get 1237 and is not handed the nomination on the first ballot anyway, that would disenfranchise those who voted for him. Sounds like Trump is the oldest member of the trophy generation.

Trump has never gotten a majority in any election, usually getting 35-40% when he does win. So based on that he claims to be the choice of the party, and thinks nothing of disenfranchising the 60+% who voted against him.
