There was no disgrace in losing yesterday. We'll be waiting a long time for another 6yo mare to get headed in the Classic. I just wish she had been given other chances.

What was the Beyer for the race yesterday?...111? She ran a 112 in last years Classic and a 111 or 110 this year on dirt. I'd say she's just as good on dirt.

That extra point was the difference between winning and losing. Even so, I've been told ad nauseum that you can't compare the two. I've posted before a pretty good synthetic to dirt adjustment. Her Beyer last year was the dirt equivalent of a 117.
I'm also not sure the 111 is a very good estimate, but I haven't done the work to comment too much on that.

Retirement?
I would luv to see Z try the turf at a distance.
Champ P almost pulled one off for us yesterday, in the depleted Turf Classic field.
Aside from Goldie.... very unimpressed by foriegn BC entries.

You should be, it was their 8th string team.
I'd love to see Zenyatta try turf now. Why not the Matriarch at Hollywood?

Well, the Hall O' Fame might object to having their entire act upstaged by a mere yearly award.

I don't follow races outside the US very often.Only if televised here.
Why were their big hosses not here?
Honest Question...

Pure guesswork imo.
I do not believe in taking a poly fig and adjusting it to a dirt number...can of worms.
Figmakers know that a 100 on turf doesn't mean a horse can run a 100 on dirt or poly and vice versa. Yes, I know, turf and poly are kinda interchangeable, but you get my drift. We have a poly fig from the 2009 Classic and a dirt fig from the 2010 Classic and they look very close.

Same reason we don't often ship for their big races...it ain't the priority of their racing calendar.

It isn't guesswork. You compared the two, I'm giving you a more accurate comparison by putting the numbers on the same scale, that is all.

Do you adjust all poly figs upwards when 'adjusting' for dirt?

What would Zenyatta do to the likes of Angle Light, Onion and Prove Out? And ohhh, I bet it doesn't take 37 years for a movie to be made about Zenyatta.
