Favorite Obscure/Forgotten Song
The guitar threads got me think more about music which is a damn sight better that what I have been thinking about. Post your favorite song that flew under the radar or has been gathering dust in your 45 collection for 30+ years. The song should also be one that you think is worth listening to, so "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" or "The Purple People Eater" are right out! It could be a One-Hit Wonder or Top 40 song that left the charts in a week. Let's keep this to the rock/pop/blues genres please.

Just ONE song?Sorry, bro, I'm not letting THE MAN tell me what to do.Power to the people!
I could do a 100 easily(and may eventually), but I'll start with a couple of tunes.
Back in early '67, a #9 hit for a criminally underated band,Paul Revere and the Raiders. Those goofy costumes didn't do them any favors with the hipsters, but a lot of good records, of which this is the best. Some nifty legkicks from the two guitarists.
I was never crazy about horn based rock bands.Never understood Blood, Sweat and Tears success in the late 60's.Chicago was good, but not great. But these guys,or at least on this record, truly rocked.A #24 hit in 1971.

Well, it wasn't a demand... I'm like you and could post a lot as well. I am hoping someone posts something I like that I had forgotten about or never heard before. Get It On or Rock n Roll Party In the Streets are perfect examples of the type of song I'm looking for. Both are already on my playlist but they're great songs that just seemed to fade away. Have at it boyz and girlz. The Best Song thread had a ton of songs, so maybe we can do the same with this one.

Good stuff so far, although I cringed a bit at Lay a Little Lovin' On Me. Eesh. The band Fresh Start never caught on but I thought they had a great sound. I saw them at the first and last Joliet Jam in the early 70s. They were one of the opening acts for the Beach Boys and Bachman-Turner Overdrive, who ironically had a slightly bigger hit with their own Takin' Care of Business song.
