I remember Ed. As a trainer handicapper back in the day, I bought some of his stuff. He was promoting his jockey/trainer exacta report (he said he his trainer and owner stats were "compromised" but he wanted to bring them back someday) and his new book on his Twitter as recently as July. I couldn't find anything newer than that.

You don't really need to buy statistics that way anymore though.

Ed Bain's Still Active It Appears

I'm a fan of Ed Bain's work; I've used his trainer stats in the past, read his 4+30 book, and even read the book Signers written by his wife.

After Googling him, I discovered that he still has an active presence on his website - you could get a Jockey Exacta report for the 6 September 2019 Belmont card, for example - and he's found time to write a new book, Libraries, Yellow Cheese and 38,880 Running Lines. You can find more details here: https://edbain.com/blog/

Sounds fishy.

A decent backup would not require a herculean effort to restore.

A one day project.

I'm more intererested in the jockey-trainer Superfecta report myself

He used to be pretty active on Twitter, I see his last Tweet was in July.
