Let's say it rains for a turf race and we had 3, 1, 4 (5-7). After scratches only 4 and 5 are left. Since we are now going with two horses as if played them that way 4-4-5 being the same as the 4-5 would it be scored the same? I think it should. But whatever you think.

I believe that's what I said -- that's what I meant anyway! If you get it down to only two runners remaining your highest rated one would get double credit; and I guess if it went down to only one runner remaining you could get triple credit on the Win/Place/Show but would obviously lose out on any Exacta opportunities.

I was going to ask a question about posting, but maybe it was answered thru bpiets....

I'll ask away anyway...Can any member of the team post the selections or do 'we' need a designated member to post? (aka captain)

Big Red, any member of the team can post on behalf of the team. It is up to the teammates to work out their own logistics -- whether they designate someone or alternate or whatever, as long as we only get one post per weekend.

For those worried about time commitment, this should aleviate some concerns. If you aren't around from time to time your teammates will have you covered.

SCHEDULING THE RACES

Scheduling the Races
The process for selecting the race schedule:

DRF STAKES SCHEDULE (link)

STAKES SCHEDULE FOR JANUARY 8, 2011

SANTA ANITA
San Pasqual H. (Grade 2)
$150,000; 4 Year Olds And Up
1 1/16 Miles

GULFSTREAM
Hal's Hope S. (Grade 3)
$100,000; 4 Year Olds And Up
1 Mile

GULFSTREAM
Spectacular Bid S.
$100,000; 3 Year Olds
6 Furlongs

SANTA ANITA
Paseana H.
$75,000; 4 Year Olds And Up
1 1/16 Miles

AQUEDUCT
Busanda S.
$65,000; 3 Year Olds
1 Mile 70 Yards

TAMPA BAY
Pelican S.
$60,000; 4 Year Olds And Up
6 Furlongs

FAIR GROUNDS
Dixie Poker Ace S.
$60,000; 4 Year Olds And Up
About 1 Mile (Turf)

TURFWAY PARK
Turfway Prevue S.
$50,000; 3 Year Olds
6 1/2 Furlongs

SUNLAND
Winsham Lad S.
$50,000; 3 Year Olds And Up
1 Mile 70 Yards

TURF PARADISE
Kachina H.
$25,000; 4 Year Olds And Up
1 Mile

The Process:

Ten Stakes races are up for consideration for 8 spots.

The selected races must have Free Bris PP's as available on Whobet.com

Assuming they all have PPs available, the San Pasqual and Hal's Hope would automatically get in based on being a Graded Stakes race.

The Kachina would be out based on being the lowest purse race.

The scheduler would decide between the Turfway Prevue and the Winsham Lad for the final spot taking into consideration post time and the opportunity to offer variety. The Turfway Prevue might get points as a rare chance for an all-weather surface; while the Winsham Lad would get points based on a limited opportunity to play Sunland.

If for some reason 8 Stakes races aren't available, a quality allowance race will be used to fill out the schedule.

Selected races will be posted a.s.a.p. each Thursday morning.

The P.A.I.H.L. requires a MASTER SCHEDULER

Actually, the correct URL for the WhoBet site is this:

http://mysite.verizon.net/whobet/trks2day.html

It's an excellent resource for free PPs on a daily basis.

Instead of a master scheduler, shouldn't we just have a set of rules to decide which races qualify? That way there is no question on a weekly basis which races will be included in the contest.

Something like field size (the larger the field, the better) can be used to break ties like you have in your example between Turfway and Sunland.

Well, I basically layed out the rules for race selection.........by Master Scheduler, I was simply requesting a volunteer to step up, go through the process and post the 8 races to be used.

...Howdy..and goodmorning...'i' believe that if the team captain does not post before a given time then the member of that team who is first to post will 'rule'-that-week' IF communications fail with the other member...lol..so 'we' will send our selections to the 'capain' for review and 'he / she' will e-mail the team a review of each one's selections and 'we' will then do a 'consenses...lolbut the 'captain' of the 'month' will do the final selections and list them well before the first race in case of bad weather scratches...lol...as happens ...ie: 15 'nags' entered and only 5-6 start...

races

I would suggest if there is a tie among races to be selected we take the race with the most entries.....for instance 7 stakes races 2 alw races to pick from
1 has 8 entries and 1 has 10 entries select the one with 10 entries...

Sounds reasonable -- we will take that into consideration.

Why limit it to just stakes races and agree with some of the earlier posters all weather tracks should be included.

What is the difference what racing surfaces or tracks are used?
Everyone will be playing by the same rules and FREE pp's are being provided too!
