I think everyone's at Monmouth. I think they have a good meet there. Starts tomorrow!

I guess I'll play Calder today. Looks like nice large fields.

So? it is often like that at the beginning of a meeting when the track is off.

brutal job by belmont

a disgrace at belmont today. any idiot could see that it was gonna rain all week, duh , let's schedule a bunch of turf races for friday.
whatever happened to "stuck" horses ? you know, when you try to scratch and they tell you "too f'n bad you're running or your stalls will be in guam next meet". if you enter and it's a short field, you're running, period.

Synthetic won't guarantee the elimination of massive scratches for off-the-turf events...

Like I said, it won't guarantee anything...just like it's not guaranteed you will get ulta short fields on off-the-turf races moved to dirt.

For an example, look at today's 4th and 6th from Belmont...seven and eight horses respectively went to the gate in these off-the-turfers...

Or...NY might have had to cancel today due to lack of entries. Like California did last week.

They were off the turf again today, but the card was quite decent. The track was very kind to speed today too.

There's nothing like betting on good horses, with good jocks on a consistent strip of dirt. Throw in a juicy bias and it makes up for all those bad days and bad plays.

Off topic...But what's up with Contessa so far? His horses have been horrible.
