The guy needs cheat sheets to explain the executive orders he is signing, it's like a bad dream that he is our president.
You’re a little confused. The sham president left office January 20. I just watched two videos on the pandemic. One with President Biden and one with then President Trump.

Biden talked about testing and masks. He invoked the Defense Production Act and explained how his administration had arranged with Pfizer and Moderna for hundreds of millions of additional doses of vaccine. He announced that each state would have a dedicated contact in the Federal government to coordinate response to the pandemic.

Trump was an embarrassment. In nine minutes he said nothing about the virus, talking instead about the federal reserve and how they were lowering the prime rate and how well WalMart was handling the pandemic.

I started at USPS in 1977. But I paid into Social Security for 15 years before I went to work at USPS and I paid into SS while working at USPS after 1984. I also paid into the USPS retirement system FERS.

Some of the people hired prior to 1984 who worked their whole life for the PO never paid into Social Security. BUT THEY NEVER COLLECTED BENEFITS.

The USPS is definitely not required to prefund 75 years worth of retiree health benefits. That's a lie, plain and simple. They only use 75 years as part of the unfunded liabilities and actuarial calculations to arrive at what needs to be funded. I know this because I'm a CPA who has done audits of governmental entities for many years.

Every private company has to fund any pension or retirement benefits they promise to employees, the only thing they can get away with not funding are those tied to bonuses or stock options. Again I know this because every business I work with has to fund at year end. This area is very heavily regulated.

FWIW the USPS is probably better off financially than lots of other government entities. Pretty much every school district I've ever dealt with was operating "paycheck to paycheck" and those are entities with no revenue stream outside of taxes. So if property values or income tax collected dips for example they are in deep shit.

Biden is better at reading cue cards than Trump. It's true.

Even the most hard core democrat, liberal leaning American should be ashamed of Biden as the president. That the Washington machine got this guy elected is awful. Made it out of the primaries only because the machine was terrified of Bernie, then campaigned from his basement, answering NO real questions about where he stands. Won the election because of mail in ballots that may or may not be legit.

Seriously guys like Bill Clinton and Barack Obama were not my cup of tea, but I could at least see why they won, I could see that they had some support behind them from the actual people, not just Washington pulling the strings behind the curtain.

The United States Postal Service delivers more than 150,000,000.000 pieces of mail a year. It has over half a million employees. Once or twice a year you see a story about some carrier through a few hundred letters in a dumpster. That carrier is fired immediately.
ETA Any carrier caught dumping mail is also subject to Federal charges.

Since you're for illegal immigration, I say fire all postal workers and fill the positions with the illegals. We could pay them all minimum wage and do away with pensions. Customers will get a break in rates and your new friends would all have jobs. It's a win/win.

And here I thought I was actually defending you......My apologies first and foremost for attempting to do such.. I take it back (with your "ignorant" comment).

I could really care less if you are "sick of ignorant people like me".....
Here's what I do know for FACT.....You wouldn't have the balls to say that to my face.

However, back to your statement.....
Although you are PARTIALLY correct in that the USPS is not DIRECTLY funded by the tax payers, you may wish to look a little deeper and see about some "loans" the government provide the USPS in the amount of BILLIONS. Where do you think those loans came from??? How does the USPS plan on paying them back?
Im pretty certain that you don't think Pelosi handed them out of her pocket.
You and I both know that those loans only prolong the misery that is and has been the USPS.

Next please tell us how the USPS workers have it so difficult. You mentioned, "not under the easiest" of conditions. Of course you didn't say difficult as that would imply an honest days work. Now of course those terms are subjective. Of course I would believe that you wouldn't even understand what a hard days work meant so for you, did the air go out one day in your mail room? Let me guess, your rain poncho had a hole? Your bag was supposed to be thirty pounds and it weighed in at 35??? Maybe your government provided sidewalk wasn't perfectly level? Uphill both ways to school?

The only reason we see as few stories as we do is it is covered up and kept in house. You and I both know that JOB SECURITY is a main reason that people are carriers or employees. Once you get out of your probation or temp status, its nearly impossible to get fired permanently.
It's one of the huge reasons you are so pro union.
