A windmill will never positive it's carbon footprint from it's manufacturing, hauling and erecting in it's life time, zero. They are diesel back-up. which runs more than the windmill.

Richard Branson, Virgin Record/Atlantic dude. He has made billions on the windmill scam. He used to, or still does, own the largest process of the windmill installation all over the globe. I had a project in the Mojave desert. I stayed at the same hotel as the Branson crew. They educated me on how useless and corrupt it was globally. John Kerry and Richard Branson were the bud's. ...You don't say!

I'll up the ante on that. This entire planet might well be gone "by the turn of the century". In either case, it appears I get to keep my combustible engine vehicles because I'll be long gone before then.

Where at, the Mojave desert is a big place? I used to live fairly close to the San Gorgonio Pass windmill farm that was built in the 80's. To my knowledge there has not been much in the way of technological advances with windmills
other than making them bigger. They also were a money pit when it came to maintenance. I always wondered how the erected windmills that are on hilltops, are there some fire roads you can't see or are they using helicopters?

The crew was staying in Mojave when I was there. I know those went all the way to Palmdale. Gypsy crews. I believe it is a mixture of sky crane and boom crane. There were maintenance road access that I remember. Crew was mostly Australians. What drinking bunch.
A bit of history.
My first logging job was in the Mojave Forest. I made short work of that piece of land, they had to change it's name.
