Never a Bud man, Schlitz was my beer of choice.

Ever had any Olde English 800? That was the first alcohol I got drunk on. That don't sell that in these parts, but do sell Schlitz Malt Liquor. That is another thing up more than 8% a year. Domestic high volume piss beer sells for what high alcohol micro brew went for.
If anyone goes through Amarillo, Texas hit up the Big Texan Steak Ranch, they have some good home brewed beer. The Rattlesnake IPA was my favorite. They didn't sell beer to go when I last visited. I would have bought a keg of that stuff.

I mentioned this to the sales rep from the distributor while he was writing up an order to restock our shelves the Monday after a busy weekend that saw us run completely out of Carling Black Label while it was on sale for something like $1.29 a six-pack.

Back in that same era Falstaff was 99 cents a six pack in California. I don't think I ever had any. I still think Meister Brau and generic beer were the worst I had and made for urinal piss. It looks like Carling Black Label is still made, but not widely distributed in the USA.
I wanted to try some of that to see how nasty it is. Anyone else have a nominee for worst beer? The two I picked are no longer brewed.

Carling Black Label was the beer sold at both Aqueduct and Belmont Park racetracks in the into the late 1970s.
The worst beer I ever drank was Iron City from Pittsburgh, Pa. -- 'affectionately' known as Vitamin I to the local tastemasters.
The second worse beer I ever drank was Rolling Rock, from Latrobe, Pa. Rolling Rock gave me severe head pains before I drank enough of that swill for a headache.

Genesee Cream Ale, awful stuff. Affectionately known as "Scream Ale". Make sure the wind is blowing if you dare to drink it.

It is interesting how even some large brands are regional or have retracted from a larger market area. When I made a bunch of cross country trips while moving a dozen years ago I was amazed to find brands of soda pop
and beer that I thought were defunct are still sold elsewhere.

Went to my friends bar today. He has 8 tappers. EVERY BEER is an Anheuser Bush product. From 805 to Goose IPA to Stella Budweiser is killing it.
And most of his customers have no clue.

Anheuser Bush is the titan of beer distributors. They have dozens upon dozens of labels in their stable. Additionally, if you perceive a problem with one of their products they will come pick it up… at no charge. They are great operators.
I doubt they are giving this more than a shrug.
