What kind of "superpower" are we really when we had the ability to prevent all of this in the first place...or prevent more bloodshed now that it is actually happening?

What we are doing is fighting a proxy war with Russia with zero regard to all those losing their lives in Ukraine, while pretending we care about the people of Ukraine.

It's actually disgusting.

I could concede that Russia is AT FAULT for everything (even though I believe we were the ones that provoked them into invading)...and still the above holds true...especially since the fighting began.

Capturing the Russian speaking areas with closer ties to Russia near his border and destroying most of the rest of Ukraine will probably be an acceptable outcome for Putin. He will have more of a buffer between himself and the west. And with Ukraine mostly decimated, it will be many years before they can rebuild and start talking about NATO troops, missiles, and bio weapons labs on his border again.
