San Francisco reparations bill

A city struggling to make ends meet comes up with this?

A great way to bankrupt a city

San Francisco, the liberal cesspool of the USA, hands down. Systematic racism does incarcerate a disproportionate amount of black people criminal behavior does. It is a culture issue, you have a high percentage of gang members and those that are proud to live like hood rats even after they have made the big time. You have NBA players pulling guns on each other in the locker room, multi millionaire rappers getting shot and killed, etc, etc.

As long as the media, Democrats and their so called race baiting leaders portray black people as victims they will go nowhere as a whole. Look at Asian people, as a whole they out earn and stay out of jail better than the evil white man. By the way black people commit a disproportionate amount of hate crimes against Asians about double of their percentage of the population.

I question why Americans would pay for historic racism when it was going on everywhere? Even now, if women, Muslims, Hindus, Blacks, Jews, Catholics or senior citizens believe that they can get a fairer shake and a better life somewhere else in the world, by all means go there now. And when you discover that your problems are the same everywhere else, come back. We'll take you back with open arms. You always will be our fellow Americans. Your forefathers shed blood in our wars and helped shape our country. And when you get back, head back to work. It's your way of performing a service for your neighbors. That's all America asks of anyone.

You look at all the people who have been victimized in the country by racism and they have risen above it, except for one group as a whole, why is that?
The best example of success is Asians. Chinese were used as low wage canon fodder to build the railroads. Japanese people were put in camps in WWII. During conflicts in Korea and Vietnam, most all people of Asian decent were lumped together and referred to as gooks. You look at the academic rating of schools in Asian neighborhoods they are always on the high end.
Also as a whole Asians are smaller than other races and what bully doesn't pick on the little kid?

Great idea! Joe Biden will tell you that doesn't cost taxpayers a single dime.

Let’s start out with it’s not a bill. It’s a suggestion by a committee. Still, it’s not a great suggestion. It’s definitely not practical financially. If we’re going to do reparations, we should target them to the black community; not black individuals. We should build low cost or free health clinics in black neighborhoods and affiliate them with nearby hospitals. We should increase funding for majority black primary and secondary schools.

We should supplement funding for HBCU’s. We should establish need based scholarships for qualified black students at all schools.

All this needs to be ona national basis paid for locally, statewide and nationally.

No body living today was a slave or a slave holder, but systemic racism is a real thing and it must have consequences!

Systemic racism is what keeps the money flowing to DNC coffers...so Democrats really have ZERO incentive to eliminate racism.

It will be up to others to achieve this goal. Democrats are captured and corrupt to the core.

Democrats eliminating racism would be like cancer centers eliminating cancer.

Bad for business.

A good start for consequrnces would to start bail agsin, and stop letting criminals go uncharged.
There is no systematic racism outside the democrat party.

Today, racism is not much more than an excuse for being a failure.

Police are much more likely to stop a black person, more likely to use deadly force, more likely to arrest them. Prosecutors are more likely to charge them, more likely to file greater charges, less likely to plea bargain. Juries are more likely to convict. Judges more likely to impose more severe sentences. Take a look at people who have spent years in prison then released because they were unjustly convicted. They are almost exclusively black.

. It is a culture issue, you have a high percentage of gang members

Nationwide there are 850,000 gang members. The black population of the United States is over 38,000,000. That means two percent are gang members. Except that 850,000 includes gang members of every ethnicity. So the number is well under two. Percent.

and those that are proud to live like hood rats even after they have made the big time. You have NBA players pulling guns on each other in the locker room, multi millionaire rappers getting shot and killed, etc, etc.
.
The NBA thing happened once, in 2009. It’s bad, but no excuse to condemn an entire race of people. That would be like me calling all machine shop operators racist, fascists.

More BS from you. lots of people of color doing much better than I. One of my fellow nursing school students, a person of color, was a helicopter pilot for the U.S. Army. I was also in the Army and spent my time as a foot soldier. Should me, an Irish American, expect reparations for the sins committed against my ancestors? Hardly.

Lebron James, a guy who is always on the racism kick, recently purchased a stake in the Boston Red Sox group, a city he claims is racist. The man is worth over a billion dollars. Lets throw Oprah and Samuel L Jackson into the mix. A couple of people who also love to play the race card. Sure do wish i suffered as much oppression as they do.

Every person regardless of their particular 'tribe' has an opportunity to improve their lot. Cowards find excuses to hide behind.

I read Reggie Jacksons book. His mother abandoned the family when he was young, his father was imprisoned for bootlegging when Reggie was 14. He and an older brother ran a laundry to make ends meet ... all the while Reggie continued with his schooling, earning a football scholarship to Arizona State University. The rest is history.
