I read this this morning with my coffee. I’m sharing because it touched me.

Good stuff. Thanks for sharing.

I think we all feel that 'out to sea' moment especially when the world gets to be just too much.

Great story. It really hit home with me. Raising my family in Southeast Alaska. I was gone for work, for many years of my children's youth. I was lucky to have a great wife, who worked, and played both roles while I was gone. The sacrifice of being away from my family vs giving them the best life and security was worth it. There was disdain from my children as they got older, asking why I chose to do that. Well now, that they are off in the world, and raising their families. That Q's has been answered, by many thanks and understanding for what I had to do. That is what Dad's do, what ever it takes.

Thanks for Sharing, but don't drink a lot of coffee because it's bad for the heart

For every "adventurous" father, whose life's travails send him "out to sea"...there is a devoted and overworked MOTHER, who stays back and pulls double duty so the bills at home can be paid and the kids can be fed. It's during the hard times when it's revealed who really has the balls in the family.

Good story! And what an amazing contrast to Father's Day sermon I heard this morning that was preached out of one of Jesus' most well known parables -- The Parable of the Prodigal Son.

I am so thankful that I have that kind of heavenly Father, most especially because I didn't have such a good earthly one.
