Why are we still paying for COVID funerals?

https://www.fema.gov/disaster/corona...ral-assistance

Still eligible for 9k from the federal government if death is attributed to COVID.

Why not? It's the compassionate thing to do. Now if we could get the government to cover all funeral expenses regardless of cause of death.

In most states (perhaps all) the government will pay for the burial of someone who has no family or whose family cannot afford to pay for the burial. Bodies are certainly not just left to rot in the streets since that would be a health hazard.

Bobby Driscoll was the first child actor to have a contract with Disney. When he developed a bad case of acne Disney let him go. He died in poverty at the age of 31 and is buried in Potter's field in New York.

Driscoll play Jim Hawkins in Disney's version of Treasure Island and was the voice of Peter Pan in Disney's animated movie.
