Anybody Binge Bosch?
Just finished the 7th and final season.
It’s amazing how good it looks on Apple TV with a good connection.

Nope because I don't have Apple TV only Netflix but it does look like a good series to watch

I think I'm in the fifth season, kind of watch for a season at a time. Didn't realize they were wrapping it up, will have to go finish. Thought the main character was great in Deadwood and he is really good in this show too.

Binged my way through the whole series during Covid times. It's not on the level of elite cable shows like The Wire and The Sopranos, but it's much better than network fare. And Titus Welliver is great.
Happy to hear that although the Prime show is over, the character's story will continue with a new show on Amazon's IMDb TV, again starring Welliver.

Thanks to your advice a couple of months ago, we now watch EVERYTHING via the Apple TV hardware. There is a huge difference in picture quality.
We're also watching Bosch (Season 7), after just finishing BILLIONS (what's currently available).
Both of those shows are just must see.

Glad you’re happy Dave. I will check out Billions.
Just to reiterate, Bosch is on Amazon prime and you can watch it via the Amazon prime app on all platforms. If you want to watch it in super high def (any show btw) it doesn’t get better than streaming it through an Apple TV 4K. A good connection makes it better.

https://preview.houstonchronicle.com...y-but-16275379 " Connelly hitched his wagon to Amazon's streaming service back in 2012." Insightful choice.

I like Bosch, just started watching the new season. Billions is one of the best shows I've ever seen, real guilty pleasure. And they have Yonkers Raceway in some of the shows.
During the pandemic I re-watched all 8 seasons of House, which was a superbly written show. It kind of started to fall apart in season 7, as they made House too over the top crazy, but overall, House was a brilliantly written and entertaining show with one of the best characters in history.

Do you think Apple TV 4k is better than say, Nvidia SHIELD? Should be the same, right? Don't see why the quality would differ. They are both 4k boxes. (Shield also supports ATMOS, which is nice)
Also, do you think quality would differ between Apple TV 4k and an app on a 4k TV?
Say running Netflix through both should be same, right?

HDR? That makes huge difference. Apple does Atmos too, but HDR is very nice.

I’ve been down this road, Apple is always better.

Not in my experience. But I think this is based on bandwidth. Netflix monitors bandwidth and throttles and adjusts trying to smooth out the picture. At least they did. I haven’t used them in awhile.

My tv is an LG C9 65 inch.

Yup, both Shield and my TV support HDR
The only way I can see Apple TV offering better picture quality, is if the shows are provided by Apple TV themselves at some sort of higher bitrate streaming quality...like if you stream a show or buy a movie from iTunes...or whatever they are using these days...and their versions are encoded at a higher bitrate, then it will look better.
But, given the same source (ie. Netflix, or whomever), quality should be exactly the same (ie. whatever the top quality the streaming service offers).
The above reply is barely English, and I apologize in advance.

Not sure about the NVidia thing, but Ralph is right. The picture is substantially & visibly better than just streaming NetFlix, even with big bandwidth.
However, all the reviews say that the Apple REMOTE is not the best. (We have a Logitech.)
