The existing deployment is all about generating an atmosphere of fear and painting supporters of Donald Trump as an imminent threat to the Republic. The Dems want to keep the picture of future insurrection alive in the minds of the public. We look like a banana republic to the world. Dismiss the troops and get back to whatever "normal" is suppose to be in this disaster of a country.

now they are talking about keeping the NG and fences there until fall of 2021.
some politicians feel safer as it is like living in a gated community and the regular population riff raff is kept away.

Well, I think about those currently serving. I would not characterize troops at the Capital as babyshit, I do think about what was the last four years without new wars. The effort to bring some troops home, and where we go in that thinking.
