Gulp. She’ll have to beat (who won it last year) & who both have somewhat good outings on the soft stuff. I think the will be the favorite again(she was the fav last year) , but I still couldn’t pick her with only firm turf on her resume.
The looks interesting to me with Irad aboard and 2nd off a long rest, if her value holds.
Good luck though and thanks for playing.

My pick is Switzerland who won his last three in open competition and one was on the slop. None of last year’s first 5 finishers are back. looks vulnerable coming off a statebred.

R8: Soutache
R11: Smiling Causeway
Prefer the more, but that turf course is a bog. Stakes level horses just ran 5F on that mire in the following fractions:
:23.56
:50.02
1:03.81
5F. On turf. For a $100K Stakes purse.
Assuming that race will likely not be on the turf tomorrow.

Nice! A tough handicapping puzzle that you nailed. Of those 18 starters I listed, only two won, I got the other one. In the other four races, the favorite won.
But I guess we ought to have our head examined for even looking at that card. With that weather, the track and all of those scratches. That's the first time I hit the pick5, pick4, pick3, DD and still lost money.

I was giving you a hard time, just some friendly banter. It's hard to take much credit for the selection as horrible as the conditions were, and considering I tried to beat the chalk all day it was a pretty miserable day for me. Oh well, onto the Belmont!
