No more new natural gas hook-ups in NY
Won't be needed anyway as catastrophic climate disruption will keep NY from ever getting cold in the near future.

This has been rumbling in California for a few years. PG&E loses money on natural gas. So they say. My last project, the developer was on the fence on installing the gas service for future tenants. It will be, no new gas lines for any new construction in the near future. PG&E lines are in terrible shape. They have had some terrible accidents that led to many lawsuits. Progress right!

Makes no sense. Almost all of the new power stations in NY State to come online in the last 20 years have been in unnatural gas. So it's OK for the state to burn this gas but not residents?
NY state bans fracking, which is a good thing but they end up importing unnatural gas from neighboring states and Canada because New York consumes more energy than it creates.

As someone who lives in an all electric house it seems none of the green liberal dumb asses realize how much electricity it takes to run one. Just my central heat in a modest sized 3 bedroom house would take all the capacity of the largest portable generator on the market. To run the whole house would take one of those tow behind diesel generators they use on construction sites.
If a person has gas central heat, hot water, and oven, they can run their house easily off a mid sized portable generator. Their is no such thing as creating heat efficiently out of electricity.
Removing natural gas from the equation will easily triple the need for electricity. How is this increased demand for electricity going to be generated and delivered? Is going to be transmitted through systems that need rolling brownouts in overly hot summers? For the record electric central heat uses more electricity than air conditioning. I have a fairly new system and running heat draws approximately double of the AC. I use a meter to measure draws, not going off of nameplate wattage.
Any liberal who would like to debate this is more than welcome, but be prepared to back up your claims with solid facts and numbers, not some BS spewed by the likes of people like Gavin Newsome.
