Do you or anyone know if they don’t follow the rule, will the horse be disqualified?

If so, then as handicappers we need to know before Friday and Sat.

Thanks

They won't be disqualified. Trying to get clarification on how much they could be fined.

Thanks,

If no disqualification, then they will probably ride as they would normally and pay the fine if it’s not to outrageous.

I look forward to hearing what you find out.

No.

This answer (the "No.", above) has nothing to do with my opinion on the current rule (and TBH I don't remember whether it was a rule that I HATED with scary irrational and impulsive violent anger, or if it was a rule that I mildly disliked due to certain disagreement, or if it was a rule that I was fine with, or other opinions).

I do feel strongly that I don't want jockeys pulling some protest/power-move B.S. (or any 'look-at-me' attention seeking stunts) on one of the biggest days after I've spent hours.

Looking back at the 2018 classic

"British stewards examine any ride in which a jockey uses a whip more than seven times in a Flat race; using it 16 times would normally lead to a 19-day ban. Additional days can be added if a rider uses the whip with excessive force, without allowing the mount time to respond or without regard to the horse’s stride, the penalties starting at two days in each case. That suggests a total ban of around 25 days for a ride like the one Soumillon gave Thunder Snow."

Jockeys not being able to use a whip in a horse race is like greyhounds racing without a lure. Horses are trained early on with a whip being implemented. There is already evidence that a horse shipping in from California to a whip friendly track has better success. This is an unfair advantage in the racing world to not be able to use a whip. So my answer is a resounding YES to ignore whip rule at BC.

Any jock who breaks the rule is stealing from those who bet on horses ridden by jocks who follow the rules. The amount of the fine is simple - their share of the purse + a suspension.
