Arthur continued to point out the need for out-of-competition testing because "races are won in training," where he said doping is most effective.

surprised me that it's actually Medina Spirit with th4e overage, and not Gamine.

but once again it's for a 'corticosteroid', not the EPO

Jimmy Barnes must've had a wound which was treated with a corticosteroid ointment. A salve. #prayingforJimmy

My guess is that Baffert is using something illegal and very "good" and uses these other legal drugs to either offset the effects or mask the effects. Whatever he uses, it obviously gives his horses the extra stamina needed to finish better than the other well-bred and powerful horses trained by Pletcher and other top barns.

He'll get away with this, he always does.

Baffert wonders why these drugs keep getting in his horses' system!

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.esp...3fplatform=amp

There's an old Onion headline too obscene for this forum ("why do all these ____'s keep ______ __ ____") that describes what Baffert is doing.

Baffert knows. All you need is a good lawyer and a wild conspiracy (like feed tainted with a Schedule 2 narcotic) and you can do what you want. What's unfair is, very few trainers can get the best narcotics, afford the lawyer, or get anyone to believe the wild conspiracy...

Rick Arthur was on the board (CHRB) when Baffert's drugs killed those 7 horses and they didn't even fine Baffert a penny, which I found shocking. We know that Arthur has the experience and knowledge, but he's hard to read.

Amazing how many accidently contaminations of unknown sources this guy has. I've never heard of something like this happening once in the UK, Australia or HK.

And I was going to joke after the Derby that we won't know the winner for months cause you never know with Bobby these days.

Baffert is killing the sport singlehandedly. Clear to me that in her last race Gamine cycled off whatever roid she was on. Barely beat a nothing field with a clear pace advantage. I’ve seen the same results in the weight room - guy goes from benching 305 easily to barely getting 225.

Arrogate goes from breaking a 100 year Saratoga race record in the Travers to finishing 4th in the San Diego handicap to a nothing field. Hundreds of examples of Baffert’s horses cycling off - just look at the pps.

Lawyers only work because the sport lets them work.

The NFL upheld Tom Brady's deflategate suspension because they wrote the rules so that lawyers could not effectively contest it. Horse racing COULD do the same- the problem is the regulators cheat themselves and/or are friends with the cheaters.

Arthur is a villain who poses as a hero.

Yes, and that's why he doesn't race his horses that often and retires them prematurely. It's all a money grab, run them clean for a few races to see how good they are, if they are GR1 material, give them the juice in the major stakes races for 2 and 3-year-olds and then shut them down and make millions on their breeding rights. If you notice, his horses never run insanely strong races in maiden or allowance races, or even in the prep races leading up to the Derby...but they do in major GR1 races. He's got it down to an art. The art of the steal.

The CHRB enabled him and so did Rick Arthur. The CHRB Commissioner at the time David Israel sat with Baffert in his box throughout the investigation.

Pretty sure Pimlico/Stronach Group will act next.

Churchill Downs Racetrack issued the following statement Sunday after 2021 Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit tested positive for betamethasone after the race.

It is our understanding that Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit’s post-race blood sample indicated a violation of the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s equine medication protocols. The connections of Medina Spirit have the right to request a test of a split sample and we understand they intend to do so. To be clear, if the findings are upheld, Medina Spirit’s results in the Kentucky Derby will be invalidated and Mandaloun will be declared the winner.

Failure to comply with the rules and medication protocols jeopardizes the safety of the horses and jockeys, the integrity of our sport and the reputation of the Kentucky Derby and all who participate. Churchill Downs will not tolerate it. Given the seriousness of the alleged offense, Churchill Downs will immediately suspend Bob Baffert, the trainer of Medina Spirit, from entering any horses at Churchill Downs Racetrack. We will await the conclusion of the Kentucky Horse Racing Commissions’ investigation before taking further steps.

Read our full story on Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit's drug positive here.

Yes and he’s very good at getting rid of any prospective 2yo or 3yo who will not succeed in the “program.” Saw one barely win for 7500 at Will Rogers downs the other day.
