Just check the noted columns in your files to see if there is data there. There's not a whole lot of difference among the files.
Somewhere the company line codes are documented as far as what they define and not the coding convention, but I had a heck of a time finding it... but it is online somewhere. But no indication of the ampersand or any other coding convention.

Light,
See 1/12/2022 CT R8 PP9 Program #9 Running Line10 (data element 1201). There is an ampersand. It is the only one on 1/12.

It looks like the "&" pertains to horses with races outside the U.S. The CT horse raced in Chile. Then I looked in my BC day data file and found the "&" for several overseas horses as well.

This is how I would do it:
Horse name~ 1st fr~~ BL ~ FPS calc~ Col3*10~Col4-Col5~ Col6/Col1
MS CANELA~ 22.46 ~ 6.5~ 1320~~~~ 65~~~~~1255~~~~~ 55.88

BY THE WAY YOU CAN GET THE Drf file into sheets or excel. Light, now sure if you knew this but if you convert the pdf file to Notepad. The insert the notepad file into the spreadsheet. It is all over the place in terms of spacing but I have it in my sheets spreadsheet, but again like Bris..need the time to seperate it all and line up, then design so you can insert and then macro etc your data. I think Drf file would be a little easier due to the face that it is unlike Bris in terms of breakdown in pace etc. i.e. Ultimate with all the rankings etc. Just thought you should know. I have attached a copy the copy of the notepad to show you what it looks like and sheets looks like just inserted into the spreadsheet will little change, I was messing around with A cell just trying to get the race conditions to fit.

Once you reach col6, you autofill col6 all the way to the bottom of your data and you will have all the horses FPS for the 1st fraction. But in order to get the first 4 columns of data you have to import the data file into the workbook which I'm not sure you understand.

Your conversion has machine language in it and you will not be able to create macros with that. Bris files have been protected for decades now from clean conversions. You have to breakdown and pay a dollar for the Bris files.

The "~" are only there as spacers for alignment

Also the FPS calculations are not that accurate if you don't adjust for the track variant. Taking the fractions at face value on a hot summer day and a rainy cold winter day is as dissimilar as apples and oranges.

The last header in post #124 should say Col6/Col2.
Also you autofill on columns 5,6,and 7

So if I am playing a tournament and the pp. is free, this data is protected and cannot be broken down???? or it has code that adds work to changing the conversions.
