I find the first one more interesting. Whether anything legitimate was behind it at all or not - there was a decent amount of social media buzz in my circles regarding Santana possibly staying in NY after a very good Saratoga.
Though I was among the ones saying "ain't gonna happen" - it definitely would have been nigh impossible for Santana at fall Belmont to have done any WORSE!

I was there every day this meet and it was a recurring topic of discussion. Hard to believe!

Santana rode 15 second place finishers and eight third place finishers. I recall a few of his runner up efforts were tough beats.

Santana now 0 for his last 90 something, last win was on Echo Zulu in The Frizette.
Factoring in the many low priced horses he's ridden, his losing streak is a complete mystery.
Some were comparing it to Chris Landeros long losing streak awhile back.......but everything Landeros had was double digits(more or less).
Now he's been pulled from Echo Zulu in the Juvy Filly........replaced by Rosario.
He's listed on six @ DMR Wed/Thursday.

the real amazing part is that i haven't seen him make any blatant mistakes on those horses.
i hope for his sake that he snaps out of this bad streak and real soon.

Anybody's guess now.
Santana only listed on three the first four days @ CD this week.
Something's going on with this guy.

The big thing is he isn't listed on any Asmussen horses.

Santana off to Clasico del Caribe in Puerto Rico during Oaklawn opening weekend, per his agent, Ruben Muρoz:
We have the makings of an Oaklawn telenovela with all the goings on!!!

All the top jocks have slumps. This is surprising, but, it happens.
