Agree 100% with your assessment of Union Rags. We won't get 9-1 but I believe his chances are 4-1. Good Luck
Mike

This is my take on it
"The heart's been taking out the Belmont Stakes 2012 after the scratching of IHA, but it's still a $1,000,000 horse race. The horses that have been competitive during this Triple Crown (Dullahan and Union Rags) have a bit less to prove than the others but they still look vulnerable. Of those others, Paynter, Street Life and My Adonis can be expected to run a good race.
However, my final selection is Unstoppable U. He is fast and unbeaten, he has run decent late numbers, and above all he ticks the three Belmont Stakes boxes: course winner, the trainer has won the Belmont Stakes before, and his grandsire won the race in 2001.
1. Unstoppable U
2. Paynter
3. Street Life
4. My Adonis

he can go the distance, lets see if he's a good enough horse coming out of the that maryland race. for sure he is one of the contenders, a matter of fact, i would say the winner this afternoon has about a 95% chance of coming from these 4 horses. and the exacta has about a 75% chance to come from those 4 horses.
i am not playing the race though, because i only followed ILL HAVE ANOTHER for 3 week s coming into this and was all set to pull the trigger on him,

Those angles worked very well in picking the superfecta in 2010. Not sure how good they were last year. I'm not confident about Unstoppable U but I'll be kicking myself if I don't bet him and he hits the board. I think I gotta at least put some WPS money on him but I'm still not sure how I'm going to play the race as a whole.

First, I'll address the pace picture. I believe this race won't have a very quick pace, despite some of the analyses I've seen bandied about here on the board.

Nice call, but then, you are PaceAdvantage!
I saw 114 and thought it was over.

PA , you must have been on the edge of your seat with Paynter. He certainly
gave it a good try . Nice selection !
Baffert briefly mentioned pointing to the Jim Dandy and the The Travers for him. Lets hope he goes to the Toga!

i think he proved that he had no problem going the distance even though he drifted out slightly in the lane which in turn cost him the race.
he did survive the acid test of the race, he should be better going forward against 3 yo stake horses for this year 2012.
