Not according to court decisions in the past: Sherrill v. Knight, 569 F.2d 124 (D.C. Cir. 1977).
Quote:
White House press facilities having been made publicly available as a source of information for newsmen, the protection afforded newsgathering under the first amendment guarantee of freedom of the press requires that this access not be denied arbitrarily or for less than compelling reasons. Not only newsmen and the publications for which they write, but also the public at large have an interest protected by the first amendment in assuring that restrictions on newsgathering be no more arduous than necessary, and that individual newsmen not be arbitrarily excluded from sources of information.
Given these important first amendment rights implicated by refusal to grant White House press passes to bona fide Washington journalists, such refusal must be based on a compelling governmental interest.

Tom,
seriously have you never heard of due process?
Its why stewards decisions can be appealed.
Acosta was denied his due process rights.
even you can see that. Right?

This and the fact that he put his hands on the girl - I rest my case.
Jim the Accoster was denying other reporters their rights to ask questions. He was abusive and disruptive.

He only put ONE hand on the girl. So...couldn't he at least get a PARTIAL suspension?

He did, I don't believe it was indefinite.
Plus, I don't think CNN was banned. I believe it only to be Acosta.....

What does the side of a hand brushing an arm for 1/10 of a sec with a "pardon me" get you? Sit for one race?

That is what the lawsuit is for ... in a few years when it makes it to the SCOTUS, the justices will decide if 'everyone' should be able to be in press briefings ... I would like to see Alex Jones there myself ... and none of that Ramos spy.

Assault is simple by definition and this is clearly assault IMO.
During that 1/10 of a second her arm drops approximately 6 inches.
How long does a punch to the face take? Time is irrelevant.
After watching numerous times it is a karate chop maneuver.

Obviously not.
NOW we have precedent for failure to shut up and hand over the mic.
Would never have happened if the CNN big mouth had shut his mouth and gave it up.
Little children need to be trained to behave.

Imagine the OUTRAGE had POTUS done exactly the same thing.
It would be on a loop on every newscast in the world until he offered his resignation. FACT.

The fact people are defending Jim Acosta is mind boggling.
