Monday 7/28 Selections/Comments

Saratoga

Race 3

Drop down pace setter entering claiming ranks for first time. Clemente could be looking to either unload and cut his losses or steal a purse.

Finished a strong second last out in what looks to be the makings of a key race. Third time out of the new barn may indeed be the plus he needs.

Improved last out at same tag after two prior sleepwalking efforts against tougher competition. Strong move on far turn last out may have made this horse better as well.

Seems to have awaken last out after two dull efforts before that. Ships in from Florida to the cooler air of Saratoga; this could be an additional wake up. Will definitely boost payouts of all exotics.

Race 5

Six failed attempts at MSW. Breaks maiden for 16K. Runs evenly at two allowance attempts at BEL and is entered today for 20K tag. This may be an attempt to unload as well as collect a purse.

Interesting one here.....claimed out of a MCL for 40K in May of this year. Ran three times on turf against allowance company with one victory. Third race in 25 days. My instincts tell me this horse is fit and and a purse it trying to be stolen.

Looks to be an improving 3 year old who woke up a bit in the last race after dropping significantly. Third time out for new outfit and being moved up the ladder again. Connections a making sure if they lose this one it will be for the right tag.

Can't ignore the Pletcher/Velazquez connection looking to improve off layoff. Decline in form before the rest concerns me somewhat.

Race 6

Pletcher/Velasquez gelding tries the MCL ranks after four very good efforts at MSW. 3 YO that looks like he's improving with every race. The drop to MCL surprises me a bit.

This 3YO moves from route to sprint after staying close to pace early last out at MSW. The 50k tag may be enough for Catalano to take a purse and keep this colt as well.

Drop down speed horse who carried the lead to the 16th pole last out at 6F for MCL 75K. Moves to 50K today but stretches to 7F.

Has run without any significant layoff since since the beginning of the year. Shows signs of life now and again including last time out. May finish off a tri at a nice price.

Race 9

Contessa moves this horse back to 16K at 1 mile and 1/8. Comes off of two even races at 6F while pressing pace in both. Today's slower pace may allow this horse what it needs.

Claimed three back for 20K. Wins back to back against allowance company at FL. Ships from PID for second try at 16k in 14 days. May be a sleeper.

Race 1

Drops a bit in tag from route to sprint while close to pace last out at 1 mile 70 yards. Has performed well 3 out of his last four with new barn.

Third time out in 19 days while winning handily gate to wire at 7F. This horse seems to be fit and liking the sprint distance.

Ran evenly three races back at todays distance before sleepwalking through two turf routes at a higher tag. Could surprise at a nice price.

Will be contending for the front early and if sped is holding may go gate to wire. Vanned off last out so could be a bit of a concern.

Race 3

Rebound claim by Pierce on this mare after losing her two back. Comes back from Belmont after an unsuccessful trip against higher level competition. Strong outing two back at MTH two back on the grass.

Stretches from Route to sprint after making a convincing move on the far turn last out. The addition of Carmouche should help this filly.

Call me crazy but I will be using this Maiden Filly in my exotics. This horse was game last out while advancing 5 lengths on far turn last out against MSW company while losing by a length.

Race 6

Stretching to a route for first time in his fourth lifetime race. Pressed a 44.4 pace last out at 6F. Today's slower pace will indeed be a plus factor here. You may see a mega burst down the stretch.

Third time out after back to back victories with new connections. This horse is fit and should be on the lead.

Looks to have settled in with this company last out after throwing in a klunker two back. Has shown ability to win at this level a few months aga and seems to be coming back into form.

Race 7

Stretching out to 1 mile from 6F with the addition of Carmouche. Right with the pace the past three races and very comfortable with the allowance company.

Second time out from the Vega barn coming off a 4 length victory at a 25K tag last out. New connections is moving this horse up to allowance company after a short layoff. Confidence seems to be there.

This Jon Servis colt improved dramatically last out after a very dull effort effort right off of layoff.

Race 5

Third time out in 26 days showed very sharp for last out after a dull sprint effort two back off the claim. This horse seems to be responding well to the new barn and should find itself in the lead today.

Presser is stretching to a route today and is also running for the third time this month. Needs to be a bit closer to the pace today to run down the

Dull last two out but dropping in class. Bell seems to be looking for a fit and maybe a buyer as well for this horse. Past form shifts show that this horse may be ready to run well today in this spot.

Race 6

This front runner comes out of what looks to be the makings of a KEY race while pressing the pace and finishing third. Should grab the lead today and repeat a gate to wire performance of two back.

Third time out in 23 days moving from route to sprint out of a very even effort against same low level competition.

Race 7

Second time out of the McCooey barn coming off of a strong victory last out while pressing a 45.1 pace at 6F. Today's stretch to 1 mile should prove to be a good move on the part of the connections.

Threw in a klunker last out at 6F but was victorious in two back to back routes before that aagainst the same/similar company. Toss out the last one and look for this horse to battle gamely today.

Race 8

Won last out in gate to wire fashion in what is setting up to be a key race. Look for a repeat today as he should grab the lead.

Comes from Calder to NY where the air is a bit cooler and moves from Route to Sprint. Was game last out until midway through when the race got away from him.

Third time out in 21 days; shows spurts of wanting to run....just a hunch here.

Race 9

Third out with new connections stretching to a route today didn't respond last out with these conditions but I'm looking for a rebound at a BIG price.

Race 5

Finished 2nd and 3rd back to back at same company. Both of these races have turned out to be key races producing multiple maiden winners.

Race 6

Second time out of new barn where this horse has suddenly woken up. Gate to wire winner last out and with ML odds of 12/1 the bump up to starter allowance is not going to scare me away.

Race 7

Won last out with a stretch burst in what's turned out to be a key race against lesser company. Look for a repeat today Also and

Lightly raced early speed horse broke it's maiden 11 months ago for 5K. Has run only four races since; three of them being low level stakes with one win and one place. Came off a 9 month layoff in June and seemed uninterested. Showed signs of life last out in a 25K stakes. Back to 5K claimers today. W/P/S

Finished second last out in what has panned out to be a key race against starter allowance company. drops in for a cheap tag against open company.

Should be on the lead while making a slight drop from NW1 allowance company to a low level open claiming. Could go gate to wire at a price.

Drop down speed horse showing great form as of latelly. Very comfortable at this 6F distnce

Coming out of a key race after finishing a game third. Has run very well all three times out of this new outfit.

Class route to sprinter looks like it's coming back into form after a strong second at 1mile 70 yards against same company.
