Hawthorne 20 Cent Pick 5 Goes Unhit.....Again!

Yesterday's 20 cent Pick 5 at Haw went unhit, generating a carryover of $18,731.....the equivalent of a carryover 10 times that amount if the minimum wager were $2.00. Four of the five winners paid in excess of $30, with a $6.60 firster accounting for the other winner. Having seen a few unhit pick 5's earlier in the Haw meet, I've been waiting for the right time to jump in. Today's the day, especially with the 14% takeout. Anyone else playing this wager?

I love carryovers! Especially 20 centers with 14% takeouts!

I have to admit i thought the 1-1 shot in the 3rd was a cruddy favorite, low pct trainer, inflated plastic beyer fig, etc. But, alas, another chalkeroonie romps home unchallenged. I wasn't good enough to bet a 4 for 104 trainer at that price, hopefully you all got flush after the 3rd.

I'm still alive, and hoping to break even at this point!

I came down with a last minute case of bad vibes and stayed out with my $700+ Play....what a turnaround from yesterday's madness. The 1 pays $74 & change.....lol.

Geez, if anyone breaks even its a success story. I was going to put in a ticket but the ticket i had written out was too pricey for my blood and when i tried to alter the ticket, i got shut out. The cavemen (tickets) who put hundreds into this got hammered, these cavemen are just hoping to get 15% back on their "car insurance".

I guess there are a few that bet very small, chalky tickets that will make a few bucks, but that is about it.

No doubt. The big bettors who spread out got hammered. The big bettors who punched it tight (with 5, 10 and 20 dollar part wheels) with 2 or 3 singles, might have made out ok.
