Parx has sank to a all time low

Was over at Parx today which used to be Philadelphia Park back when it was a racetrack and not just a oval next to a casino, and i bet the late double and late pick 3's, 1st pick 3 started in race 6, bet the double in race 7 and another pick 3 starting in race 7.. Races 7-8-9 were all turf races, now mind you it is a beautiful day here, sunny, not too hot and a nice breeze. I hit the 4 in race 6 to start the pick 3, race 7 the 3 nips the 7 by a nose and gives me 2 in the 1st pick 3, starts me off in the late double and starts off the late pick 3.. So i go into Race 8 needing the 5 horse, who is 2-5 with 8 minutes to post, i walk out of the paddock and here the announcer say they are pushing post time back 4 minutes, nothing else. I go sit down and look at the infield tv screen and it now says races 8-9 are off the turf... Now there is no announcement that they are off the turf, just says it on the screen.. So the horse who is 2-5 on turf, on paper has no shot on the dirt, horse still goes off 4-5, my guess is no one who is betting has any clue it is off the turf. So of course he finishes 4th outta 6, and the 3 dirt horses go 1-2-3. Of course there is no recourse for anyone who played pick 3's or doubles.. I find out later that they took it off the turf because the turf course was in bad shape they say, not because of rain or anything, just is bad shape, yet they ran on it Saturday and ran a race on it Sunday where the 2 favorites ran 1-2...

I made my biggest bet i've made in a long time against that 5 horse when i saw he was 1-1 or thereabouts. I needed either the 1 or the 2 to win the race, but i still made out ok on the exa and tri.

You have a legit beef, they could have called an 'all' for the horizontal bets, no excuse for them to not pay off in that fashion, i feel your pain.

Equibase says the jockeys refused to ride on the turf course following the 7th race, but only 2 of the riders who rode in the 8th race were in the 7th, Stew Elliot and Maria Remedio.. So i guess Stewart Elliot said i don't want to ride and since they treat him like a saint, which he isn't they took the races off the turf, screwing over the betting public..

They were the 2 jocks that ran 1-2...on horses who were much better on dirt than on turf.

Nobody really bets Parx. If it were in NY , there would have been a riot.

Really? You don't think this screwed over players?

This is a problem. If it happen the way he says it happen, it's a wholesale screw job. It also takes some serious cajones to not come up with some kind of consolation.

Let's see if Dick Jerardi, racing beat writer for the Philadelphia Daily News and the Mid-Atlantic beat writer fro the DRF picks up on this insult to the betting public.

Don't hold your breath. He's on the payroll at PArx and writes what they tell him to.

Icenight your not really missing anything by not seeing parx......outside the track is nasty bright orange reddish paint.....a high rail nasty tote board....

And then if you go inside the poker room is no bargain either.....a renovated part of the grandstand I once used to get buried in......there's a long escalator up remember I hit a $442 exacta a turf paradise only to hand it over to my friend down the escalator.....not fun!!!

Parx= not fun

Of course it's a bad policy, but you accept these terms when you wager with the track.

Yeah, I'm sure he has a meeting every morning with racetrack management and they dictate what they want him to write...

Seriously?

Some writers could theoretically "tow" the company line...after all, some of those tracks have really fancy spreads in the pressbox area, you dont want to 'rock the boat' if you're getting free bagels and coffee.
