DRF Skips Arlington Million Card In National Simulcast Edition

Does somebody have to tell the "horseplayers" working at DRF that the #1 card in the country on Saturday is running in Chicago on Saturday?

I reserved my copy and paid my $11 at my local store. DRF deemed Ellis Park's Saturday card - highlighted by two $40,000 Maiden Special Weight races - to be more worthy of publication than Arlington Park in the Philadelphia market tomorrow.

I can't remember DRF screwing it's Eastern customers on Arlington Million Day in years. So why were we screwed this year?

Wake up. Please!

Unbelievable, but hardly a surprise.
DRF will never "get it."

You can get the full card for FREE at BRIS.

Now that I've got a decent printer my toner and paper costs today are 2.66. Just doing AP and Sar. Free cards betting DRF Bets. Try it. I was forced into this when the distributor pulled out of every neighborhood in the city. Now I'm glad.

I'm trying mightily to use my Microsoft surface Pro, PP's via PDF file, a digital pen, and NO paper. It's not easy, long learning curve, I've tried many PDF annotation apps, but I'm getting the swing of it. I like lots of multi color highlights, etc., really the "form" looks the same at end of day but on my tablet.

And no ink on my fingers when the card wraps up! (Miss that a bit )

I could definitely get into what you are talking about and am going to explore this more this winter. You know what though? I would still print this all out when done. I still write a lot of notes during the day into it. Plus I'm digging putting together my own race book everyday with all my stuff in it. They will be instruction manuals for my grand kids!

What kind of printer and toner are you using. I have an old ink jet and after a

few cards the ink is out. That gets expensive

I use this:

Brother Monochrome Laser Printer, HL-L2320D

Very low-tech printer but it works great for racing forms and is cheap (only $59).

I probably print about 200 racing forms per year and only go through one toner cartridge (about $50 each).

AP Million is yesterday's big race

When they began the Million, it was a HUGE purse. It's still a lot of money but it's not that big a deal anymore. It isn't even in the top ten.

http://www.therichest.com/sports/oth...racing-purses/

When they started the race there was a lot of discussion about putting up that large a purse at the expense of the ordinary racing. It gave them status for awhile but now even the DRF sees it as just another race. Maybe it's time to make AP into a Wallmart. People always need walls.

BTW walls are able to stay up without the benefit of slots.

I've been told Cincinnati retail distribution is back.

Thanks for the update Class. I will still buy the form for the big days just to have it for nostalgia but they forced me to move on this year. And while I was upset with change after 20 years I have embraced it now. Compiling all the handful of various information I utilize into one volume is very nice. It makes it easier when ontrack also. If there is standing room only, no surface space to work, no place to sit down with a computer I can still function fluidly because everything is in 1 hand held volume. This reality is as real as much at Belterra and Turfway as Keeneland.
