Remington Derby

Bang up 3 horse photo at the wire w/Lone Sailor prevailing. Final time 1:49.97. Combatant 4th. Lone Sailor finally won one. Never saw the photo, but it was tight and never looked like he got there to the naked eye

Happy to see Lone Sailor get his first graded win. Several of these horses were in the Super Derby at LAD earlier this month, including the SD winner, Limation, with Lone Sailor 2nd. The Oklahoma Derby finish was about as close at it gets!

I wonder how Lone Sailor would do at a 1 turn mile or 7 furlongs. Could be another Whitmore

That's a good question. His running style is similar. In the Super Derby he was trying to close into a fairly slow pace but today's was hotter. I think he'd do well going shorter.

I'm glad I'm more of a casual bettor these days. Had both of the losers of the 3 horse photo, as well as Combatant, on top of exotics.

Yep, I was there. If the wire was the poll and not the mirror the 3 would have won.
