He dusted that field yesterday in the Dueling Grounds Derby. Heckuva race.
As good as Oscar Nominated was, how about Aeroforce? He looked really bad in the paddock, sweating profusely and kicking the stall. Faded in the stretch pretty badly. Talk about a huge dropoff from his 2 year old form...

He's a great example of a horse who won a big dirt race at 2 so they tried to make him into a derby horse and essentially ruined him. Every year there's example of horses like this.
Hopefully he gets turned out and next year they keep him on turf.

Ummmm, he won one race as a 2YO, a $75k Maiden Claimer on the turf at Belmont.
He won a Derby prep race at Turfway ( not dirt), was an also ran in the Derby, and has been on the turf ever since. Not sure what the owners did to try to ruin this horse. If you're going to be critical, at least get your facts straight.

Works Panned Out
The clocker service I subscribe to had this one pegged before his first start.
He got a horrible trip in his debut, and they loved him again next out.
Oscar Nominated won by twelve at 6-1, and highlighted my best day this year.
I didn't bet him back on Saturday, but I'm delighted he won.
He will be a major force in the BC Juv. Turf, and although there
will be a handful of tough Euros to deal with, he could be good enough

Both Oscar Nominated and Airoforce are 3 year olds.

I was talking about Aeroforce as everyone else deduced but you.
Context clues perhaps...

Wow this thread is not going well lately far as people being on the same page.
Horses4courses, I believe you've got Oscar Performance on the brain, not Oscar Nominated. Good news for you is you can bet him next out wherever he shows up now!

Oh yeah, easy to figure out what horse everyone is talking about considering Airoforce is spelled wrong and the actual horse that went down the Derby Path (Oscar Nominated) isn't the horse you are talking about. And the horse you are talking about (Airoforce) that was "ruined" by the Derby aspirations in Spring on dirt nearly won a Grade II on turf in August at Saratoga. But besides that everything is clear and your points are valid.

You are 100% out of line, ROR. You were wrong, you're still wrong and you should have apologized to Super Pickle.....Pure TROLL attack on your part, totally out of character for you...WTF are you trying to accomplish??

Oscar Performance
Oh yeah.
I meant the 2yo trained by Lynch.
Glad to see you're all paying attention.

I was the one that spelled "Airoforce" wrong and took everyone off course ROR. My bad. But I was pretty clear in my post transitioning from Oscar Nominated to "Airoforce".
As far as Airoforce goes, I do think he has dropped off since 2015. His maiden breaker at Ky Downs was very impressive, especially since firsters seems to have a difficult time with that track. Followed up with a win in the G3 Bourbon and a neck loss in the BC Juvy Turf. Then the win (on a sloppy track) in the G2 Ky Jockey Club. 4 starts, 3 wins and a second.
Now what has he done in 2016? I totally threw out the 2 races pre-Derby. Connections taking a stab at the Derby and I don't blame them. But since he moved back to turf the only decent races he's really run were the runners-up in the Hall Of Fame and Penn Mile. No other placings.
So when comparing his 2 year old season to his 3 year old season, then yes, he has dropped off.
