Larry Jones...

Street Band has really matured. This was a horse who I once felt was a non-contender in the division.

(also thought she was an underlay and non-contender today. Wrong.)

She had a little bit of an odd trip today, and it may have actually worked in her favor, and Guarana failed again to live up to her hype, but it was a solid win.

Can't argue with $1M purse... forget time or speed figs.. $$$

Question PA Derby

looks like the odds for

IMPROBABLE
and
MR. MONEY

will be much closer than I had expected.

I think War of Will puts on his glue-ons, and takes this.

Again, looks too chalky to bother with putting together a ticket, unless you believe some big longshot will win or place. I REALLY can't take Mr. Money at those odds.

With Paco aboard, the only big value is Spun To Run, if you like the Hard Spuns, which I do. Local horse, never run out of the money, albeit not against this class, but there are things to like over 6/5 chalk

Question

this would be 'prime big bet' situation if I had expected to vie for favoritism...

here we have a 3/5 shot in Improbable, and he's going to go off around even-money, maybe even better.

He's much, much, much the best... The 6 is supposed to be a nice fan horse and the 2nd choice with the field being depleted,...

Time to UNLOAD on the , right?

but when I did not expect and can't explain why a horse is either not taking enough money, or another horse is taking competitive money, I can't bet with a confidence that my opinion of the race is accurate.

Last time Improbable got the job done in a G1 was back in 2018. He couldn't even get it done in a G2.

Horse is vastly overrated. I used to like him a lot though. I'm sure Baffert will have him ready.

Irad with a patient ride and perfect trip on the bomb.

And the 3YO division gets even muddier.

I've always felt he was pretty good, but that's fair

I didn't learn much today. Reared in the gate, then tossed his head at the break and was taken out of his game.
However, he showed absolutely no 'life' today.

Did run the best in this disappointing addition.

was fortunate to capitalize, but hats off to them,..

$1M and it's called a 'G1' in the books

This clinches his record........One G1 win back in 2018 @ 1-1/16th.

I was going to say before that IF this race was 1-1/16th or shorter, I would have used him. This horse is all Baffert hype --- if was any other horse with this kind of record .... his distance is not 1-1/8 or longer I don't think.

Your description of the head tossing, etc. he was not into the race. so I'lll give you that.

As for WoW, he's not dependable and very inconsistent.
