12% takeout rate for all bets!

Hialeah announced their takeout will be 12% for all wagers at their next meet starting December 3. http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-raci...2-for-all-bets

Bad news is it's quarter horses, which I haven't a clue how to handicap.

The learning curve isn't as high as thoroughbreds, in fact, it might take a day to figure things out for any regular thoroughbred player.

Hialeah has to rebuild their pool sizes.

A $100 to win would cause precipitous drops whether they're thoroughbreds or quarterhorses. It is going to take a few years to get everyone back on board.

Hoping Hialeah will tough it out in the early going.
The rewards are there - unquestionably.

It is great that a track like Hialeah is not locked into the MEC or CDI family.
And it's even better that a racino is not going to keep this track afloat.

Ultimately it's going to be the horse racing product that carries Hialeah back to its former glory.

I'm pretty sure they were available just about anywhere. I know I had them, and hope to have them again.
The risk Hialeah is taking is that some outlets may decide not to take them. It will be very telling if that happens.

That's what's going to happen for sure. Maybe they're more concerned about getting locals on track.

Even if it's quarter horses, this is great news. The rest of the tracks are watching. They might want to try something similar very soon. I'm very happy to hear about this, and would love to see Hialeah Park being approved to bring back the Thoroughbreds like in the old days. It's the very first track I visited.

Hialeah-Takeout For Upcoming Meet!

All,
Hialeah has announced a 12% takeout (across the board) for their upcoming meet. I believe this will be the lowest % takeout (across the
board) in the U.S. I will post additional information as it becomes available.

BloodHorse Story On Hialeah Takeout Rate!!

All,
Please go to www.BloodHorse.com for "Hialeah Cuts Takeout Rate to 12% for All Bets." This report will give you additional information on this topic.
I realize that Hialeah would eventually like to return to a Thoroughbred Racing Venue at some point in the future and perhaps this new policy could be a new stepping stone to success.
I for one, would hope that a successful meet would affect other track takeouts as well.

Looks like it's time to learn how to handicap Quarter Horses! I've already branched out to Harness due to their low take.

Hey, you never know. If more tracks start doing this, they're going to feel the pressure. Don't you think?

They won't do that, but they Will offer you the opportunity to
piss your bankroll away on a "Quad-Superfecta", a wager SO
stupid they hired a trainer to take over business Operations
so when it fails terribly they can "Blame it on Ritvo"

If so,then we will have to boycott those outlets. This is one thing that should not be allowed to happen.

Precisely. Customers have to keep the ball rolling .
The industry is not going to make the changes for the bettor.

The bettors are going to have to force the changes to the horribly out dated signal fees and rebate structures, etc.
